  1. Under a severe tstorm warning here from that, lots of lightning, wind picking up. Nice!
  2. The ones here are putting on a concert, quite impressive! Even a couple of lightning bugs for a visual effects bonus!
  3. Made it to 89F here, but the humidity is definitely creeping up. DP 68 currently. From Mt. Holly regarding those showers: NEAR TERM /THROUGH TUESDAY/... As of 6:20pm...Shortwave energy continues to dive south across the forecast area sparking some pulsy isolated to scattered rain showers extending from the Lehigh Valley to Ocean County. CAPE values currently near 2500 j/kg with weak shear will allow these pulse-type showers to track south-southeastward over the next hour or two before waning around or just after sunset.
  4. Picked up 0.20" of rain overnight/early morning, August total is 3.92". Not bad, but it's been kinda dry lately, and looks like nothing for the next week. Hopefully our hot spell next week doesn't stick around too long. GFS has parts of the Midwest in the 100's till almost mid-September. Yikes.
  5. Hello and welcome, new forum member! Today is awesome - here is a snippet from this morning's Mt. Holly forecast discussion. I concur with the last sentence:
  6. Picked up 0.25" after midnight last night, August total is now 3.11". As Birds has mentioned, the grass is loving this summer!
  7. Keep your blood supply up for all your skeeter friends!
  8. It was plenty muggy here last night, dp was 73 at midnight, steamy windows and all. We did have a shower in the evening for 0.18" total, nothing today though. August total so far is 2.86".
  9. This is basic, but have you checked/changed your air filter? I'm also curious, last time you said that they removed an obstruction... is that like they opened a damper (lol), or what was the actual obstruction? Stating the obvious, but you shouldn't be having so many issues with your system. Good luck!
  10. Got about 0.25" from that, plus 0.18" earlier. Wrapped up as a bit of a sun shower. Tell RedSky we've got steam heat baby!
  11. Yeah it's warned here. Been out back cutting up branches from Monday's storm, the thunder has been impressive. Now it looks like it's doing a bit of a fade. Raining now which is cooling things off. High here was 85F.
  12. Only game in town at the moment, getting thunder now. Didn't expect this! 82F currently, might be humid this afternoon, lol.
  13. Pretty skeptical at the moment, but they're the experts, so we'll see!
  14. Received 0.65" of rain today, August total is 2.25". Started mowing late yesterday, got another bit this morning but had to stop cuz of the rain, hopefully will finish romorrow. Had a boatload of branches etc. to cleanup from Monday's storm, finally finished late yesterday. One of the neighbors just mows them, from the sound of things, lol.
  15. Just got power back here - Yay! We have a small 4000 watt generator that I dusted off last night to save the food in the fridge. Now it's quiet and also a really nice evening out. I do my best backup power research during outages, lol. Looking at battery backup with solar input capability this time around. Not cheap, but would be nice for next time. It's easy to get complacent since it doesn't happen too often. Hope you get your power back soon too!
  16. Had an experience like that from Floyd. This was pretty vigorous wind wise, still no power here and no indication of when we might get it back. Think Peco is momentarily overwhelmed... With the road closed, the only sound here is the neighbor's generator, and katydids....very dark, lol.
  17. That was pretty impressive looking on the approach! Wind was strong here, lost power, a small tree snapped in half, and a bunch of branches down. Also got about 3/4" of rain with it.
  18. Started raining here about an hour ago, got about 0.08" so far. With the better returns getting closer, the breeze is picking up nicely. Feels nice and active out, lol. 72F here at the moment.
  19. I can see why! So is that local local or 50 miles local? Beautiful either way. Had you been out there before? What's the elevation where that picture was taken? Good luck, and enjoy!
  20. With the 0.43 earlier, July total here is 5.70". Not bad, kept things pretty green heading into August. Not sure if I've been this enthusiastic about a cold front during the summer before, not because of severe weather potential, but for the apparent longevity of the upcoming cool spell. Don't recall a forecast like this for the 1st week of August, with highs from 80 to 83 for the next week. Yes!
  21. And another 0.43" from a followup popup...there's a line not too far to the NW that I'm thinking may be the last hurrah for this warm spell we've been having...
  22. Just had a popup move through here for a quick 0.21". July total is 5.27". Cooled it off just a little (currently 81F), and I can't wait for these cooler temperatures and drier air that's coming!
