I hate people. Faking clouds for clout. Ooof

Easily some of my favorite clouds. These are stellar. It looks like a Van Gough painting.

Would love to meet if I got the job! I had no idea you work for HQ. That’s awesome. I know a couple people over there. Say hello to Stephen Beida, and Carmen in Budgeting for me

Hey everyone! I have some pretty awesome news which will hopefully blossom into life changing news in the future... I have an interview with the Weather Prediction Center in College Park to become a Forecaster on the QPF/Winter side of the house. The interview is April 25th. I am beyond excited to even have the opportunity to interview, so very grateful. I will keep everyone in the loop, but I could use your thoughts and prayers as this would be a major career move for me, and I'd be home again Fingers crossed!

They lack the mental fortitude to play on the road. I mentioned this to my friend back home. It's pretty obvious they don't know how to handle adversity in-front of a raucous environment. Something that is tough to teach sometimes. Sad but true story there. Could be a force in any other situation, but can't handle road/neutral court.

I've conversed with Liz multiple times since being out here during severe events. I've also had private conversation with her on Twitter and off twitter when we were both involved in a Hazardous Weather Testbed. Literally one of the nicest people ever, and boy does she know her stuff! She's an inspiration to a lot of female meteorologist both in the field and aspiring to join. I would say she is one of the more influential people in the NWS. I told her we need to meet in person at some point, and she told me her house is always open if my wife and I are ever in the Norman area. Seriously, just a heart of gold.

Hey my man! Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, Sunday is reserved for a family gathering at my in-laws place all day. Monday is the only day that would work and lunch time is probably all we could muster since my family wants to have dinner with us around 530-6 that day. Tough to squeeze in everyone! Wish we were there for more than 5 full days, but thems the breaks. We do need to plan a meet up next time I'm in town with a bunch of us! I would love to meet everyone.

Late February will be rocking. February Long range Discussion thread

I like quick hitters in the late winter time frame. I do get the itch by mid-March for warmer weather, so any shot of snow followed by warming up is always fine in my book! I'd love to come home and see some snow to make it feel like home in the winter! -

One thing I do like about the setup inside D8 is the expected tight thermal gradient running west-east within our neck of the woods. The airmass that will prime the environment will be pretty solid and the globals this far out see the chance for winter precip is a positive, and they are likely not cold enough given the origin of the cold. The hope is to maintain a strong baroclinic zone within the confines of VA in order to capitalize on both the ascent from the shortwave and the cold layer through the boundary layer. We have scored with far worse. Not sure we'll be getting insane amounts of snow in the setup, but it could deliver an advisory level to perhaps low end warning if every chip fell into place. It's the best setup I've seen for the area in a while, so it'll be cool to track since I'll be back home around that time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! -
Yoda, you could just casually walk into some of us instead of running....

Hey guys! I'll be in town with my wife next week (Wednesday the 22nd) until Tuesday morning the 28th. Thinking of possibly doing a meet up time at a spot in Columbia, MD for lunch for a couple hours. I wouldn't be opposed to any places in DC or Baltimore either. Hoping we can luck into a bit of snow while I'm back home. Let me know if anyone would be interested in meeting up the 27th! Hope everyone is doing well!

Hope you feel better @nw baltimore wx. My bout with Covid in December sucked. Fully vaxxed and all, but still got me pretty good. My mom got hit very hard with it the one time she got it and my Dad basically said it was like a cold. Affects everyone differently. I took Paxlovid and I'm pretty sure it saved me from having to go to a hospital. It was my first time with the experience. Definitely a 0 star recommendation. Took a full month for my body to get back to 100%. Lungs took the longest. The headache I had with it was brutal. Lots of rest and LOTS of water. Great support for the body to keep rolling. Hang in there my man!

Texas/Oklahoma Discussion & Obs Thread 2022
MillvilleWx replied to It's Always Sunny's topic in Central/Western States
We’re definitely getting a bit worried out here in the Permian Basin. Persistent fzdz prior to the incoming ZR on Tuesday will ice things up decently here with temps generally 27° or lower from tonight through Wednesday AM. RAP and other hi-res have us at a paltry 22° mid-afternoon on Tuesday. NBM is up around 0.25” on the FRAM for these parts by Thursday AM, and that’s with it running a solid 6-8° above current and previous conditions. Hopefully you guys further east don’t get slammed like guidance is saying. Nothing pointing to historic, but certainly no slouch in terms of general impact. -
Currently 16/-13 here in Midland. It's a character builder

Happy Anniversary @mappy!!!

This front in W TX is no joke. We are down 10 degrees in 8 min. Already in the low-20s, well ahead of schedule. Upwind temps in the low-teens already. Get ready!

December 22-23, 2022: Warm Rain to Arctic Chill
MillvilleWx replied to WxUSAF's topic in Mid Atlantic
I'll have some thoughts on the snow potential for Friday AM sometime later today. At work this AM and busy contending with the arctic blast we'll be getting down this way. Looks like temps falling through the day tomorrow with a low between 5-8F on Friday morning. Brrrr -
Central PA Winter 2022/2023

Can confirm There is a masterful burger joint there though, so it's like 1.5 stars -
Just a quick check-in before bed. I mentioned yesterday there will be multiple ways to obtain snowfall for the region in this pattern. Even a cutter with a massive arctic front would likely produce snow squalls and whiten the place up for the holidays. Big storms need everything to go right. That’s obviously still on the table, but probalistically that’s not the most viable solution. GFS was a solid compromise this evening. Also, keep an eye on that initial SLP ahead of the digging 5H trough. That’s a way to squeeze an advisory level snow out before even looking at the main show everyone is hoping. Solid look on guidance this evening. Still 7+ days away. A lot of time and I doubt we’ve seen the real solution at any point.

Euro would be deep winter for Christmas if that panned out. Hell, I'd take that at face and enjoy my holiday if it worked out like that. The trend is more amplification at 5H, and if you want a good storm, that's the way to go. One of the positive scenarios with these evolutions is the fact you would see snow regardless if there is a coastal or not just from the robust Arctic front that would blow through. A lot of positive takeaways in the 12z suite.

Definitely one of the best teams to bet on for the NFL this year. They have won 1H moneyline all but 2 games this season as well. They have covered the 1H spread over 70% of the time as well. Kind of remarkable. The craziest stat of them all I know was if you teased the opponent of the Rams by 6 points on the final spread, you would be undefeated this season. That is absolutely incredible.

I'm sure Manchester is glazed like a donut at this point. Haven't heard much from our friends up there.

Awesome. I've been sports gambling for the past 10 months. It's a challenge, but can be a lot of fun. If I was back home, I'd be deep into it. I love betting props and lines. Thanks mappy! Didn't want to bring up a subject that should be referenced elsewhere. And don't worry, no fights from me. I was just seeing if anyone was interested!

Dude. This is repulsive. I'll have you know I hit my arm on the side of the door frame a few weeks ago, and I only cried for 5 minutes.
