Low of 40° this morning. Currently 75° and Sunny. A gorgeous day to run some errands. Start my night shifts this evening. Mornings will be nice and cool to come home to.

Got down to 44° this morning. Up to around 62-63° now. Only a touch of rain for the area. 0.01” measured. Really enjoying these cool mornings. Lows last 3 mornings have been: 44, 41, and 44. I can get used to this

2.32” at Mi casa during the weekend storm. Another 0.22” so far today. A solid 4 degree diurnal (55°-59°). I am officially back in the Mid Atlantic!

Awesome to see! National Blend came in much wetter, as expected much of the deterministic suite now favoring more impact further west, but still a sharp cutoff on the western edge towards the Appalachian front. This is well within the means of potential and before any hi-res ensemble data can be integrated to show Convective schema and more detailed max/min variance over the QPF field.

Hey Chris! Sorry, was sleeping. First good sleep I have had since starting nights and it happens when I come off of them (imagine that). There’s deviations in forward speed and propagation once it reaches our latitude so it’s still something we’ll have to parse through over the next 24 hrs. Having said that, it does look like general improvements are favored throughout Sunday with NW to SE drying pattern favored. I would say the first part of Sunday could be gloomy but incremental improvements would more likely occur over the course of the afternoon. That’s from what I saw last night in the series of runs and favored ensemble guidance. I’m gonna be busy throughout the weekend, so I’ll try to poke in and provide some thoughts, but NWS is well into the handling stage at this point and should be a great source of information. Have fun at Hershey! My wife and I might head up there during Christmas time to take in the lights and festivities. Been a long time coming for that!

Did the QPF forecast tonight. Sharpened the western edge and did bring totals down on the NW side and bumped them up on the coastal plain. Have to see how the Euro move affects blended guidance later on, but I still count amounts fairly reasonable given the setup. Tonight was also my last night shift and I’m off till Tuesday. I’ll try to chime in on thoughts when I can

This series right now is showing the youth of this club. Completely overthinking at the plate and swinging at straight garbage. It’s one of the things that makes me believe this still isn’t the year. Has been a lot of fun though. We are missing a few pieces still. Gotta take at least one from Tampa this series.

Just for you, I did Actually I did it with meteorological merit. It’ll be close today!

Been loving the new job so far yall. I actually have a training shift for winter in October. If you ever want to check out updates on todays Excessive Rainfall, I’ll have my last name on there for the afternoon package This week is my first alone and I’m getting the hang of it. Still a lot to learn, but this is a great spot. Love where I work.

18z GFS with one of 877 possible outcomes at this range. Too far to parse details. Timing of northern stream trough pattern, strength of surface ridge in the Atlantic, and perturbations within the mid-level flow that won’t be parsed until another 10 days out will play a role in the path of the storm. Non-zero number for direct east coast impact, but number for the time-being is small unless noted otherwise. Just follow along per the usual at this range.

Anytime my man. My name has been on some of the Excessive Rainfall Outlooks for this event. Quite the first two weeks of training

I was about to come on here and let y’all know @WxWatcher007is safe. Quite the storm for those parts. I’m sure that was an experience he’ll never forget.

Man...What a first week of work I just had. Walked into training during a historic Pacific tropical cyclone impacting the west. What an eye opener that was for a National Center.

Considering I was leaving 42 of the last 45 days over 100° and it was forecasted to hit 105-110° after I left, I would still feel good about it

Time to think cold. What is your favorite snow memory?
MillvilleWx replied to ldub23's topic in Mid Atlantic
Favorite Storm to Track: Jan 2016 Favorite Storm(s) to Watch Unfold: Feb 11, 2010 & Feb 2006 Favorite Winter: 2009-10 w/ 2013-14 not far behind (Insane wall-to-wall winter) Honorable mentions: Jan 96 (First snow memory), Jan 00, PDII, Vikings/Ravens snow game in Dec, Feb 2014 Ice Storm at Millersville, Snowmagedon, 2011 Commutagedon but I had pneumonia so I couldn't thoroughly enjoy it I will not include my chase to Mass for the Feb 2013 blizzard since it wasn't in the Mid-Atlantic, but that was an absolute all-timer for me. Never seen anything like that before. -

This is the storm that solidified the fact I wanted to be a meteorologist. My dad woke me up at 1AM or so because it was thundersnow out. 20" in a short period of time later....Truly magical. Heaviest rates I've ever seen so far from a single storm. Hit over 4.5"/hr at one point. Just NW of I-95 where I lived over to Randallstown got absolutely smoked. Snow melted quick though as the air was moderated behind it. I remember seeing drips occurring at 10am while shoveling and having to remove my layers I was so hot lol. It was truly a one of a kind storm. I believe that gave Columbia, NY it's all-time snowfall record in 24 hrs too. -
Last week at Midland for me. Orioles in first place and the future looks incredibly bright. Started a healthy lifestyle journey and already paying off. We hit the road a week from today. Life is trending in the right direction
