  1. I never broke out the kerosene heater this winter. I put down some grass seed last weekend and am currently running the sprinkler.
  2. Getting some mangled flakes when heavier precip moves through, 37F. But these 1: -1 ratios just aren't gonna cut it.
  3. Heavy rains and some gusty winds out there. No lightning or thunder.
  4. Yep! An extra day of Redsky’s double dog dumb azz winter of dumb azz
  5. The heavy (loud) rain woke me up...lol! I thought I saw a flash of lightning, but never heard thunder, so maybe I only imagined it in my half awake state.
  6. Guess a bunch of us MA weenies signed up and overwhelmed the program!
  7. “Welcome to”?? It’s been spring since Thanksgiving.
  8. Here's an interesting thought experiment...where would you rather live? No middle ground here. Pick one or the other: A place like Marquette MI where even in a bad season, you're gonna get 150" of snow. No need to worry about teleconnections, blocking, ENSO, sun spots, any of it! Just get the wind to blow from the right direction and you're digging out. But then I wonder, would I care about snow at the point? Would I quickly get bored with it like the kid who has a pool in his backyard but never goes swimming? I think that's what make us weenies -- even though it does snow around here, it's still something special. Even in our best winters, we're still only talking about 3 good storms or so. Or would you rather live in a place like Key West, where there is absolutely NO chance of snow. Again, you're not torturing yourself looking at long-range guidance or seasonal outlooks. It's not going to snow, who cares! Just spend the winters drinking margaritas and watching beautiful sunsets.
  9. Got down to 19F overnight...almost makes you think it was winter.
  10. I heard Glenn on KYW the other day and thought it was odd. Now I know why. KYW was always on when I came down for breakfast as a kid. Can't tell you how many times Elliot Abrams broke my heart saying, "snow quickly changing to wind-swept rain".
  11. I dipped below freezing and am now sitting at 29F. This is a top 5 event of the winter so far.
  12. Lol...you almost made me get off the couch and look at the porch light!
  13. Still, I'm sure the local news is going to make it sound like the next ice age is upon us.
  14. Currently my forecasted highs for Fri and Sat are 32F and 33F. I remember when arctic outbreaks meant daytime highs struggled to reach the low teens.
  15. Didn't think the storms were all that bad IMBY yesterday, but I was wrong. My end of the street is fine, but a few 100 yards at the other end, these's a downed tree, utility pole and plenty of large limbs. I've seen the same thing driving around the Lansdale/Towamecin area today. Not sure how I lucked out w/o any damage, but glad I did.
  16. Yep, getting a pretty good snow shower right now -- probably a top 3 event for this winter. 35F.
  17. My trash cans are still standing. Either the winds weren't that strong or I threw out a lot of $&*# this week.
  18. Can hear the winds roaring aloft. Storms about 15-20 minutes to my west.
  19. And it’s under 72 hours...lock it up!!
  20. Girardi alone is probably good enough for 4-5 more wins this season.
  21. Mostly virga, but occasional light rain/flurries. Looks like heavier stuff is just off to my west and about to move in. 39F/29DP.
  22. fwiw, and probably not much, the 18Z NAM has a small band of snow moving through the NW burbs tomorrow night.
