This front will bring well below 0 temps to Angel Fire, NM, teens to the Panhandle and a freeze to most north of I20. Halloween morning wind chills around here could be in the teens with afternoon temps in the 40s only. If only the associated low could track further south so we could get wrap around flurries but it looks like the low will be well to our north keeping us cold and dry.

Looks like my family's place in southern Taos County, NM got a few inches of snow so far.
-
Looks like the NE quarter of NM and the TX Panhandle are in for their first significant snow tomorrow into Friday.
-
Angel FIre, NM had a high of 51 on Friday then a low of 6 Saturday and back up to 57 then down to 13 this morning with a high of 62 this afternoon.
-
Cold spots could drop into the 20s Sat morning in the cold spots along I-20 if the wind goes calm and skies clear.
-
Looks like Friday will hold in the 40s for many with maybe some sleet if there is enough post frontal moisture. Frost is possible north of I-20 Saturday with a freeze possible along the Red River and in NW Texas.

My weather station gave out a couple weeks ago so no measurements from my house. I need to get one ordered so I have it for the next front. Still in the upper 60s around Tyler.
-
Could we see some frost this weekend?
-
21 at my family's place near Ski Sipapu, NM. 13 at Angel Fire. NM, always a cold spot.
-
I cannot wait for next week's front. Highs in the 70s with lows maybe touching the upper 40s here in NE TX Wed morning.

Angel Fire, NM fell to 16 this morning. Reports from the area around my family's place near Sipapu have had freezing temps the past 3 mornings with 24 this morning. I wonder if snow can dust down to base level tonight.

Oh wow, that's nuts. Is that the only model that picks up on this that you've seen? Hopefully that's an outlier and can be disregarded, but it would be nice if we ended up with more than an inch. Just not 12".
Yes. Euro is the only one I saw that had the crazy totals along I20. Looks like the hi res models from yesterday are verifying with most rain to our north.

I'm curious, where do you go to view the Euro model? I use COD weather but it doesn't have that model. Everything on there looks like 0.5"-1" for at least the Longview area now, instead of 2-4" from yesterday.

Recent runs of the Euro show 6-15" for the Longview/Kilgore area. The western gradient is pretty sharp so if you are west of where the main band sets up you will not see a whole lot. Really hard to pinpoint this far out.

Sister lives on a lake outside Longview - hopefully they don't have any issues.
Hope not. Most models show a few inches which we can easily handle but Euro keeps insisting on >20" locally around here.
-
Some spots have seen 35" or rain over the last 24 hours near Beaumont. The main band is sagging towards Houston proper now. All of this should begin to shift north and west later today. East Texas should go downhill rapidly tonight with lots of flash flooding there tomorrow.

Hopefully the flooding isn't too bad, but many areas could surely use the rain.
I am hoping for a good 2-3" up here along I-20 in E TX, but the Euro runs showing 20+" have me concerned.

Looks like the I-45 corridor is in for some flooding this week as TS Imelda slowly moves north.
-
Yesterday the rain was to my north and today to the south, ugh.

No rain recently in Hideaway that I know of.

This makes consecutive morning with 62 degree lows, wow.

Next week looks amazing for late July with weekly anomalies 5-10F below normal per ensembles.

We had about 45 mph gusts, but only received a few sprinkles IMBY. Disappointing combined with the forecasted track of Barry shifting farther east. We probably won't end up with much from that either.
I got over a half inch in Hideaway. Yea, not looking like much rain from Barry in Tyler/Longview area, but maybe some heavy showers for far E TX.

Surprise, surprise, the MCS from KS is knocking on my door.
It packed a punch wind wise. Still dealing with issues from it at the office in downtown Tyler.
