  1. Euro is a deluge here between now and Friday.... and NAM is a pedestrian inch or so
  2. Heh... just saw that... mudslides in Tolland while the vultures continue to circle here
  3. I work at a college. I’ve now been tested a dozen times since early August... once a week... and even twice a few times. The results are usually turned around in 12-18 hours... never longer than 24. The entire campus community is being tested at least once a week, pumping out north of 3500 tests a week.
  4. What more can we do though? I feel like New England has been pretty good about testing and contact tracing, and the reopening for most places around here has been painfully slow/ non existent. I mean ultimately nobody is forcing anyone to go out to bars or crowded places. If someone chooses not to do that, totally fine, but if some people want to try to get back to some sense of normalcy, I think that’s fine too, if all reasonable precautions are taken.
  5. I booked a trip for a few days right before Christmas to north conway and hope to ski cranmore a few days. I spent a bit of extra money to be able to cancel right up until the day before. You never know these days
  6. Looks like nobody will be skiing then . Runny nose. Holy Christ
  7. Pretty depressing article. Sounds like if a certain set of scenarios play out we could be in big trouble... vaccine or not.
  8. https://www.evo.com/outlet/ski-packages/atomic-punx-five-skis-look-nx-10-bindings thinking about splurging for these.... last years model seems like
  9. Thanks for the honesty.... so basically the skis are useless with bindings that can’t be worked on..... I’ll have to shop around. Im skeptical of ski swaps happening like you mentioned, so I guess I’ll have to shop around.
  10. @powderfreak so these are my skis... not sure if you can tell... but could these accommodate a bigger boot? Or be adjusted at all?
  11. Thanks... I’m not really opposed to trading in all my stuff either and getting newer (probably used) stuff. Will I get anything for 10+ year old equipment? And what can a used set of stuff cost me? Roughly
  12. Skis are about 10 years old..: so I’ll have to see what they look like when I get home.
  13. As a casual skier, would I be able to buy new boots and fit them to my skis accordingly? Like if I buy boots for my shoe size online, is it easy enough to change the bindings on the skis? Ill take them somewhere if I have to, but only skiing a few times a year at most, I’d like to do it myself and save some money
  14. Just out of curiosity... heated? Or just a summer thing.
  15. Going up to North Conway December 20-23 hopefully to do some skiing. Got a decent rate on a room... $99 per night and can cancel right up until the day before.
  16. Thanks for remembering. I forgot to mention shortly after I posted about it here they seemed to be gone. I’m guessing the spray I got into it the first time must have gotten more of them than I thought.
  17. Beautiful properties you have there... but with that, a little out of my price range. Maybe if we are looking to splurge down the road somewhere.
  18. Assuming that the ski season is somewhat normal and there aren’t any state to state travel restrictions in the northeast. My wife and I are looking to take probably a 3 night trip to the North Conway area mid December or so. Any suggestions for places to stay that may be offering some bargains? All the usual hotels and what not seem to be prices high like they usually are. Willing to try something a bit different

  20. It took until September 8th... but we finally got our first W as a society in 2020. Keeping up with the Kardashians was finally cancelled after 20 hellish seasons.
  21. I know we had a tree discussion for my front yard a few weeks ago. I said I was going with another maple... but I reversed course on that after giving it some thought. I thought an absolutely huge tree among mostly smaller trees in everyone’s front yard may look silly. I ended up going with a flowering cherry “Kwanzan”... supposedly gets to 30 feet tall and 30 feet wide... bigger than everything else but not absurdly so.
  22. Installed a ring doorbell last week and today installed a ring security camera with a solar panel for the backyard... should have some good captures for snow season.
  23. I’m 26 and have dabbled a few times looking into getting into electrical work. Being married, having a home, etc.... not sure how feasible it would be at this point.... by the time you go through the process you’re probably talking 32-33 years old, at least in my case
  24. I think a big piece of the puzzle this guy and many others are probably leaving out is these “helpers” are low wage, non benefited, often times under the table gigs. The honest answer would be. I can’t find any helpers right now that I could pay a shit wage to do absolute dog work all day and offer them no health benefits or vacation or sick time. most of those helper jobs are you show up and get paid (usually under the table) and if you don’t work, whatever the reason, you don’t get paid.
