  1. Grass popping up all over as of this morning. 11 days after planting
  2. Thanks for the responses... I figured cool weather may slow it down. Still nada as of today... hopefully a bit warmer tomorrow and we’ll see something pop
  3. Planted grass out front last Saturday... weeds popping but no sign of grass... how long does it usual take to start seeing anything?
  4. Slow but steady progress on my disaster here. Got about half the front yard loamed and seeded... more loam to come Tuesday and will have entire front yard seeded by middle of this week. Planted a few dwarf Alberta spruce, azaleas and some ground cover type stuff as well.
  5. That’s a lot of loam. I’ll be doing my whole yard with about 25... granted it’s only a quarter acre lot... but still
  6. I don’t really care for mulch either. I just spread several yards of p stone under the deck and along the back of the house to help with drainage and to form a base for an eventual patio. Expensive, but looks great. Considering using stone as an alternative to mulch once I get the grass down and start doing some planting’s. Mulch loses its appeal quick... and needs to be done every single year.
  7. I’m throwing down like 4-6” of loam and am going to seed the shit out of it and see what happens.
  8. So the guy across the street used some sort of fertilizer today, so I’m going to talk to him to see what he uses and how deep his well is (guessing they are all similar).
  9. Ha thanks man. Been kind of a crazy year... but sometimes things just work out I guess.
  10. Can lawn fertilizer be used as normal with a well? Or is there something special I should buy?
  11. Just bought a house as many of you know. Yard is an absolute disaster. It’s a new build, and the sellers wanted nothing to do with landscape. Will do before and after pictures. Phase 1 this weekend is putting stone down behind the house and under the deck
  12. A storm like yesterday is a prime example of how you will get a much lower number if you just stick a yardstick in the ground at the end of the event. Your losing several inches at least. Same concept measuring and clearing once every six hours too. Yesterday your probably losing a few inches of whatever fell when you take a reading at 6 hour intervals. Sucks because it makes the storm seem less impressive.
  13. We have the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant here. Huge perk of living in Taunton. Ive lived here my whole life (24 years) and have lost power maybe a dozen times? And never lost it for more than a few hours. during this 3 storm blitz I’ve lost it once for 25 minutes.
  14. Going with 18.1” total here... bob was about 17” and Matt (butterfish) also in that area. Feel good about it as we are all usually close. this has been an odd winter for sure. Heart of winter was a furnace basically, but we’ve had some good events on the front and back end. looks like I’ve recorded 16 measurable events in the snow table.. most obviously small, but I’d be curious if there is an average number of measurable snows we get around here per season
  15. Yeah... implying someone is lying is kind of a low blow. I guess that’s easier than admitting error in where heaviest sat up?
  16. The last inch in that quick band that rolled through around 8 was pure see through fluff. rarely see that here... almost unheard of in March. I expect the same if the band to the West makes it in
  17. Not ready to go final here yet. That band tint the west could drop another inch or two if it makes it here
  18. Hard to believe we wasted 4-5 in subsistence getting light sawdust and still saw 18”. This storm was legit
  19. Death band at the end and the small band right behind made this storm memorable. About 18” storm total. Roads are a total disaster here.. bottom inch is frozen solid and the plow aren’t getting it up. About as impressive as a March event as you’ll see here.
  20. Looks like 1 more band to move through here... maybe can score 1 more inch
