  1. it has been pretty badass. yesterday was a huge overperformer, too. maybe the best day of lightning i've seen in my entire life.
  2. i am just over the moon with how today turned out. a few Tuesdays ago we had that big day with the line that re-developed over CNJ and dropped hours of lightning. and that was super cool, for sure. i was thinking, wow, how often do you get multiple hours of good lightning? but the atmosphere was on crack today, starting a few hours after noon. multiple rounds of heavy SVR, tons of gorgeous lightning; anvil crawlers, the full catalog. and STILL GOING. really amazing and uncharacteristic for New Jersey. i'll be posting photos soon. nothing too crazy, i was impeded by rain, but still good photo album stuff.
  3. one of the best months ever for severe i have some sick photos from today, i think. cant wait to get back to the lab
  4. nobody is in that storm now over Monmouth? thing looks nuts. i just got caught in the rain from the little piece in Middlesex, can’t imagine how heavy the real stuff is.
  5. solid moderate rain in this line but no wind or lightning; little gust front
  6. storms should hold up enough to drop a bunch of moisture on the ground for tomorrow’s sun-heated steam bath. which may prompt a more interesting day tomorrow.

  9. rclab, mio amico, I don’t understand. i am just trying to get a handle on these weenies thrown at me from left and right.
  10. i, too, am a scientist
  11. what does it mean when my posts get weenied. does it mean it's a bad post? does it mean i'm a bad poster? i take huge pride in being this site's worst poster. your weenies merely feed me. go ahead and throw your weenies at me you stupid clowns, i'm just going to keep shitposting. i'll eat your weenies up. i've been eating big weenies my entire life and i'm not about to stop now. also 71/68 in Piscataway
  12. what the f are you talking about
  13. the new summer regime of endless 70+ dews really sucks but if it comes with more thunderstorm activity that’s a nice compromise
  14. anyone have storm totals for Middlesex? i think between the missed PRE and the easterly track we had 0.50" or less.
  15. I can’t remember ever, in my life, in any place, getting this many thunderstorms for this long. it has been 5 hours of lightning, and it is raining heavily—yet again—while I wait in my car for it to subside so I can go back to taking pictures.
  16. i think it's been about three hours of increasingly heavy lightning. pretty rare occasion.
  17. excellent lightning, some really close strikes, but as mentioned somehow we dodged most of the rain.
  18. wow i hope these storms make it to the coast, prodigious lightning coming out of them in NYS
