  1. yeah..had about 10"-11" even on the south coast (maybe it was like 8", can't quite recall). That's the first whiteout I can remember from my youth..followed by heavy pelting sleet for an hour or two before the flip. I was at my friend's house for a sleepover and remember asking him to turn on wbz to watch Barry Burbank..not your typical ask at a 10 yo sleepover
  2. The backdoor front on 5/31 was the last time I can remember the temperature noticeably dropping Still warm/humid here
  3. .12 - saves me from watering at least
  4. mod rain but sun shining off to the east. kinda cool
  5. the radar looked a lot healthier than I expected when I woke up. maybe we can scrounge up .25 here
  6. Sandy was the only one I could think of late..and that ended up landfalling south of Atlantic city - so doesn't count. Irene, Bob, Carol, were late August Gloria, 1938 were Mid late-September
  7. 0.03" also, guess who's back, back again Stein is back, tell a friend
  8. $800 for an entire winter is great. I just did an early fill of my oil because I read the prices were going to start skyrocketing. I have a boiler system for heating and indirect water heater. 180 gallons at $4.25 ~ $785 Unfortunately I'll be lucky if I make it until early January. Last winter I spent about $2200 on oil. This year is on track to surpass that I need to start looking into alternatives
  9. had a huge nest of those last year..about the size of a beachball. paid $160 to get rid of it. DIY is probably not worth the hassle for those..especially with toddlers and pets around. it was only about 7ft high on my maple in the front yard
  10. Figured. gonna be a rough September, like last year
  11. How do you not know what a stratus is? How do you expect me to carry on a meteorogical discussion with you now. smh
  12. Tbh..I only ever cared about winter storms or severe storms/hurricanes (snowfall amounts, hail, wind gusts)..and never about how much non-frozen liquid falls. However, I may get one now that I'm a seasoned, grizzled amateur.
  13. Fri Night/overnight Saturday has potential
  14. I may buy a stratus gauge too. I'd like to see how far off my mounted ambient rain gauge is, if at all
  15. you're being generous. it would be the exact same scenario here. tropical downpours
  16. lower cape kinda got screwed both days..and the drought has been terrible down there too. Boston/NW another screw zone. The Portsmouth RI/Westport area got really screwed as well..but otherwise a good chunk of the region did well
  17. Yes I was wrong. Once the mets started talking about the convective potential and the scattered nature, I backed off a bit. Admittedtly, Stein has gotten to me emotionally at times.
  18. 6.71" on my gauge and steadily increasing (since yesterday). Seems a bit higher than radar estimates..but we are really getting shellacked attm
  19. Andy Dufresne yesterday and today. the region needed it
  20. the storms west of Hartford should hit you
  21. mostly Stein here today but doesn't really matter after yesterdays beatdown +.08" and well over 4" for the 2-day total.
  22. I don't think i'm getting to the beach today. Maybe if I lived on LI
  23. Yea I updated my post to say that it showed hints of one, though the GFS/GEFS are more drastic
