  1. lol.....and with no snowfall from the storm or lake effect. Each run just gets worse.
  2. You can see the clear effects of the relentless SE ridge on models through mid January. 3 to 6 inches total in snowfall...
  3. I just witnessed an epic melt on the New England subforum. It lead to a bunch of bickering between members and a moderator had to delete a bunch of stuff. It was hilarious. Made me feel better about my melts. "My melts are smaller than yours!"
  4. Oh my word. Normal to date is less than 5 inches? I love the LSV, but this was one reason I left: needed more winter.
  5. I am starting to agree with you on the torch. I despise 40 degrees with rain.
  6. Euro jumped on the Cutter train with RAIN across the entire Northeast this weekend (and a liiiiittle ice in the boonies of Maine.) Just ugly. With each successive run giving us less and less snow for next week, do we end up punting even farther into January? I have a feeling we're just going to keep on going with the pattern we've been stuck in. Strung out junk waves and mild air. This really seems like our base-state for winters now. Part of me is actually rooting for a big, massive cutter up through the Central Great Lakes to hopefully shake things up. In reality, we haven't had one for weeks and weeks...and we need a change.
  7. Michigan has cops that actually stop people for speeding? In the 9 years I lived there, I can probably count on one 5-fingered hand the amount of times I actually saw somebody stopped. Was that you?
  8. Ha, thanks! I am plenty used to it with the low elevation of the Lake Ontario Coastal plain. With the junk maritime air we've had flying across the nation, combined with the warmer lakes, the past couple winters have blown chunks synoptically *and lake effect snow-wise) up there. Glad you made it home safely! Just heavy pockets of rain here. Least wintry place in Central PA today. lol
  9. This, right here, defines our climate...with the steroids its on.
  10. I could see that happening. But, we have seen the models blow these storms up and make them cutters, only to see them become weak waves passing through on a fast flow. If we see a cutter, we may be able to get a deeper cold shot behind...rather than continue the mild air that exists behind these waves zipping across.
  11. A secondary off the New England coast and most of New York is still rain. I have mentioned this several times over the past few years. I mean, there IS cold air available this year in Canada...so that should be able to work into the system. I suppose it's moving too fast and developing too late to tap into much.
  12. And now...it rains. haha Most of my dad's family lives in snowy Hazleton still. Even their higher elevation has only minimally helped them lately.
  13. Thanks for your excellent discussions. I was wondering the same about tomorrow. This area, Danville, was supposed to get an inch or two of snow today, but it completely missed to the south.
  14. The New Englanders are melting about others melting.... lol Hmmm...this comment errs of @rochesterdave perhaps moving up in the meltdown ranks... Hey, if you can't get anything to freeze...you join in on the melting. That's what I used to always say (as of 10 seconds ago).
  15. Well, you know me... I'd prefer a snowfall that lasts on the ground longer than 24 hours after it stops. I know November may be appealing to you though with its 60 to 70 degree pool days.
  16. Nice! Well on our way to our new average of 60 inches of dustings.
  17. Big fluffers near home and only 29 degrees. That's a winter day.
  18. That is where everybody inserts themselves. It's not just you and me these days... the melts are increasing. I'm moving into the next stage: acceptance...that we are in eternal November.
  19. Checking out the Baldwinsville webcam, it looks like they're getting a very nice snow shower there right now with dusting #433432 forming. Absolute virga fest all day here at my parents in Danville, PA.
  20. Whew! The Skepticism is real thick in here today. Come. Join me. Lots of space...
  21. Thread Title: Upstate/Eastern New York-It's Still November...
