  1. Always appreciate your information. Sun is out now. Perhaps it will encourage some instability and add to those possible snow squalls? Maybe pick up a couple more inches this afternoon?
  2. I checked out the Central Square webcam and still see grass poking out there.
  3. Yeah, it's beautiful flakes coming down. Not being picked up well by radar. I'm on the western edge of the best snows now though. Visibility has gone up and the sky is brightening a bit. I've noticed our region is in a bad radar location in that we are out of the range of all 3 radar sites. Yeah, that airport thermomenter....
  4. Looks like it's weakening and becoming more of a widespread, showery event.
  5. Picked up 5 inches already this morning. Looks beautiful out there!
  6. Definitely snowing at 1 to possibly a couple inch per hour rates right now. If I can get this band to settle in here for a while, we could overperform.
  7. I was wondering how you were doing under this band. Pounding here as well! Beautiful!!!
  8. BUF has a SWS for their region for that band headed directly towards my area. Snow really coming down right now. ...A BAND OF HEAVY SNOW WILL AFFECT PARTS OF OSWEGO...WAYNE...AND NORTHERN CAYUGA COUNTIES... HAZARDS...A band of heavy snow which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than a half mile at times. LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 930 AM EST, a band of heavy snow was along a line extending from near Port Bay to near Cato and moving slowly southeast. LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... Fair Haven Beach State Park, Sodus, Cato, Chimney Bluffs State Park, Sterling, Ira, Huron, Wolcott, Sodus Point, Hannibal, Red Creek, Meridian, South Hannibal, Pultneyville and Port Bay.
  9. I don't know. It's looking pretty good for our weenie zone of Northern Onondaga county.
  10. Just nudged into the band here with nice flakes coming down. It's been snowing since about 7. Tips of the grass are about covered.
  11. Yep. Band is getting narrow and I can tell it's turning on too much of a NW flow.
  12. Watching these bands like watching a horror movie: Is it going to die? Is it coming to me? What if it goes that way? The front end of it was coming right towards me, but then dropped south. My concern is it's going to set up just to my southwest.
  13. The models were looking great for lake effect for us and now...nothing on Monday? What happened?
  14. Excited for you Lower Susquehanna Valley guys. Enjoy!
  15. Just checked the Springville webcam and it looks like moderate snow there. Not sure if this band is associated with the East coast system or lake effect...or a lake enhanced combo?
  16. Syracuse airport recorded 60 inches of snowfall and had an average snow depth of almost 2 feet.
  17. Very light synoptic snow has started here. Ready for the traditional dusting and then hopefully several inches of lake effect.
  18. Updated BGM disco - looks like maybe convective snow squalls possible tomorrow: In late morning-early afternoon, upper wave takes on a negative tilt while pivoting through the area with shot of cold air advection. There is some suggestion showing up in the models of steep lapse rates/instability right at dendritic growth layer between 3-8 kft, even outside of the main lake effect area. Snow shower clusters, while not adding up to a lot of accumulation overall, could still pack a punch and be squally generally for counties along and west of I-81 in NY; possibly briefly into far Northern Tier PA. These snow showers could result in rapid changes in visibility and quick thin coatings of snow on roads.
  19. Those are computer generated and change all the time. They're really not the best to go off of, and are rarely ever right...especially for lake effect snow.
