  1. I think somebody mentioned the other day (wolfie?) that a combo of the NAM and Rgem is the best for lake effect? Good call again.
  2. That seems to be the theme with EVERY cold front this season. Only moisture is when the temp is above freezing...especially in the 40s.
  3. I'm looking at the leftovers for us N Cuse guys. I totally ignored the big show up on the Tug. lol
  4. Yikes, I hope it's not that low. I'm thinking 2 to 4 inches with the band, and then a couple more with multi-bands. If those bands don't work out for many, then it will be the low end I mentioned of 3 to 4 inches.
  5. The 1.5 to 2 inches of snow from last night was definitely a lower ratio snowfall with that synoptic element to it. It's barely budged (other than from gusty winds) in hours and hours of sunshine. The lake effect fluff from other "events" this season vanished quickly. (The ground is also colder now too, which has some effect.)
  6. There's more people in Redfield with the last name Yerdon (or some spelling version of it) than there are teeth.
  7. As I've said for days, 6 to 10 inches. I think our minimum will be about 3 or 4 inches. Sometimes the snowband can get hung up a bit (not for long with that Arctic front rushing in today) and then we can get several more inches if there are some intense multi-bands. If those things all fall in place, over 6 inches is very possible. If the front just rushes through and we get scattered snow showers behind it, that 3 to 4 inches would probably be it. I think we'll get more than the 3 to 4 inches, especially with the fluff factor. Syrmax has a good call of about 6 inches.
  8. Internet is horrible up there, and they jack the prices up knowing full well the lack of competition. When I was there, there were rumbles discussion of them expanding Fios from Camden to Redfield. P.S. I love the little town of Camden. If I had been able to get a job in Camden (very limited due to size) I would have easily lived in the area between Florence and Camden. That northwest portion of Oneida county is a hidden snow weenie's dream! It's a bit higher up in elevation and does amazing in setups like today. They often had more snow there than in South Redfield where I was at.
  9. I couldn't decide whether to "laugh" or "shed a tear" at this one...
  10. Yup...the actual "downtown" community of Redfield is getting clobbered. Then, over to Osceola. That is the exact area I called home for a winter.
  11. Yeah, I think 6 inches is a good call. Hopefully whatever falls can survive our mid 30s on Wednesday and Thursday to continue a solid snowpack as we enter the synoptic desert period.
  12. I think I'm just ready for a "La Nada" winter...because these stupid La Ninas (and El Ninos) aren't producing...
  13. BGM's updated map actually was bumped higher for those of us in Northern Onondaga county... 8 to 12 inches. After the miss last night, I'm not sure if that's doable for this evening, unless the band slowly moves through our region.
  14. Welcome, Mike! This is a fantastic group. It will be a pleasure having you join us and giving us updates from your neck of NY (and your trips).
  15. Is there any type of synoptic pattern that produces for us these days?
  16. lol..yup! That is smack dab over the location I was at and waited a whole winter.
  17. Yeah, but there are blades poking through in some areas (as in a some places lost complete snowpack yesterday.) So in our next thaw, it will definitely be patchy in area. Still, in general, a 2 to 4 inch pack. Silly..but better than most are doing right now.
  18. Yeah, I am thinking it will be a crazy evening commute in these parts. Looks like we had about 2 inches overnight. I can't believe how much snow we lost in less than a day.
  19. May you get dumped on today, Wolfie, Blue Moon, and tombo. Enjoy!
  20. GFS is Suppression City now like the Euro. It's alllllll over the place!
