  1. The echoes have JUST shifted from moving south to north (anything from that direction is hell for Syracuse, it seems) and started moving slightly from the North and West. Immediately after that happened, we now have winter again with the best snowfall of this event so far.
  2. So, 1 inch (per @Revracer800) in Hannibal, but 8 to 10 inches in Oswego? Wow, quite the difference.
  3. I've experienced that sleetstorm vibe with pelted windows several times. I am truly flummoxed, as I don't know what type of setup we need these days to actually get a legit synoptic snowstorm here. Yes, I believe we will get several additional inches of snow (thanks, again and of course, to Lake Ontario). We "should" see some enhancement this PM and then transition to some lake effect tonight. I may be in a better spot in NW Onondaga, being closer to the flow off the lake. FINALLY transitioned back to some snow (light) here as of around 10 am.
  4. 3ish inches of white vomit. Sleet, downsloping, and oh, the temperature popped above freezing at the SYR airport. The new winter in what has become the most ridiculous upstate city for "winter" weather.
  5. ...and changing back to snow again. This is by far one of the weirdest storms I've ever experienced. It'll be a bout of fluffy snowflakes...then a sleet squall...then a band of snow...then sleet/graupel/freezing rain...
  6. Unbelievable. Up here to your north, I'm back to sleet with occasional snowflakes. Several inches of a mix of all types of frozen precip. except hail.
  7. It's been large dendrites with occasional pelting mixed in since my last post, Hopefully the worst of the warm layers is out?
  8. On a positive note, the short bout of freezing rain appears to be done..hopefully for good. There's now big flakes falling again with some graupel mixed in.
  9. lol...I'm telling you it's a real thing...a miserable pain in the ice thing.
  10. Yup. Pretty much. Make fun of me all you want, dude. I'm frustrated... but am happy for those getting it.
  11. Just issued...BAHAHAHA... They should have added..."Except in Syracuse will it will be mostly freezing rain andsleet with a bit of snow mixed in.. Special Weather Statement...UPDATED National Weather Service Binghamton NY 100 AM EST Mon Jan 17 2022 NYZ009-015>018-022>025-036-037-044>046-055>057-062-PAZ038>040- 170800- Northern Oneida-Yates-Seneca-Southern Cayuga-Onondaga-Steuben- Schuyler-Chemung-Tompkins-Madison-Southern Oneida-Cortland- Chenango-Otsego-Tioga-Broome-Delaware-Sullivan-Bradford- Susquehanna-Northern Wayne- 100 AM EST Mon Jan 17 2022 ...SNOW, HEAVY AT TIMES WILL CONTINUE THROUGH 3 AM, SLEET MAY ALSO MIX IN... Current radar and observations show moderate to occasionally heavy snow across the entire area. Some sleet may also mix in at times. These conditions are expected to continue through at least 3 AM EST. Snowfall rate will be around 1 inch per hour, but locally could reach 2 inches per hour in heavier bursts.
  12. Well, I suppose I'll have two layers of glacier now. (Barring we don't somehow soar above freezing overnight...lol)
  13. I've gotta learn to embrace it. Whatever model is warmest and least wintry for Syracuse....it will be right.
  14. Please...enlighten me... does Syracuse ACTUALLY get real synoptic snowstorms!?! Every one since I've moved here has been a vomit-enducing piece of garbage downsloping/dryslotting/sleet/rain/thaw mess. It's like I never left Southeastern PA...
  15. So I guess we hope we go back to lighter returns so we can go back to light snow that doesn't accumulate before the dryslot?
  16. ...And it looks like the Nams were right with 1 to 3 inches here. lol...
  17. Sleet mixed with snow here. Couldn't even get an hour of heavy synoptic snow. Tennessee and North Carolina can do it....but we get sleet. The curse words I am calling this city right now will remain in my head.
  18. What are you talking about? I didn't report it. Put your glasses on. And, yes, look at the radar. The sizzlestupidsleetsaunacuse can not be denied.
  19. On radar, it looks more like this precip. shield is moving slightly more to the east than north. I don't really see that dry slot making it the whole way up here. I could be totally wrong in my analysis, but it seems there's a little resistance in it moving so far north. @vortmax, some of this could be related to it not being as amped as the Nam was showing.
