You seem to be having the same synoptic luck that we in the Syracuse area are having. They either go too far north and we get screwed with warm air...or they go too far south and we get nothing. Last night, even the guys in Connecticutt right next to the warm Atlantic got more snow than us. 3 inches of sleet/graupel/snow waaaaaaaaay up here from the strong SE winds off the Atlantic, while there was more snow literally everywhere else in the state.
Nice! I go to DuBois often, as my wife is from there and I lived there for a few years. We were actually just there this weekend. It's been quite some time since you guys have had a good snowfall!
Almost all the models seem to be showing another 4 to 8 inches across Eastern Wayne, Cayuga, Onondaga, and Oswego counties through tomorrow morning. So maybe we can get our Winter Storm Warning to verify.
The Onondaga reports are absolutely pathetic. I would love a meteorologist's analysis of this event locally and what the odds are of something like this happening.
Ha! Yup...it's this neverending repeat pattern we've been in for years.. cool down, then warms up and rains...cool down.
Perhaps we can get this to move far enough north on Thursday? Or will it take the suppressed southern track right after the one on Wednesday takes the north track?
Pretty impressive that it's taking that long to move through the county. Looks like west side of Brewerton has now made the 5 to 8 degree drop.
This could be why some of the models were showing less snow on the eastern side of the county for today's snowfall.
Did you see my obs.? (Maybe you have me blocked...lol) Cato dropped 6 degrees in an hour. I am also now down to 26 degrees with a powdery moderate snow falling.
It's dropped into the 25 to 28 degrees range here in Northwestern Onondaga and the Phoenix area with moderate snow. Seems like the line of colder air runs right through Bville and to just north of Brewerton.
So true...and I still haven't embraced that fact. I hope every time that it happens that it will be wrong...but nope. You stuck to your guns about the Nam being right. Good call.
