  1. Actually, it wasn't far off. It had those couple inches at the beginning (which is what we got) and then several inches of lake enhanced (which is what we got). It was a little low on totals but very close.
  2. I wish I had two other locations I could go to based on the forecast.
  3. 12 inches "might" be pushing it...lake effect is so tricky. If we just get showery stuff, that will be hard to meet. If some banding sets up, there could be 4 additional inches to get there.
  4. @sferic, BGM just updated this as of 10:30 pm...which is kind of humorous, because this is what they had earlier this evening for an entire total tonight. So, we got a bonus from the lake enhancement. Now, if the lake effect doesn't set up overnight, then it was a win on their part. ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST TUESDAY... * WHAT...Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will cause blowing snow to drift.
  5. Yes. As the system moves away, winds are expected to turn more WNW, which is the best trajectory for Northern Onondaga county. Look at the radar, and you can already see those snow showers by Rochester turning on a more WNW flow.
  6. You're most welcome. I am glad you're with us now! Looking at the radar, it looks like lake effect is kicking in to the west of Rochester.
  7. That was still the Lake Enhanced Synoptic Band. Lake effect should kick in overnight, but probably won't be as heavy as this band was.
  8. I got 3 inches of whateverthatwas last night, and 5 to 6 inches today/tonight (1.5 to 2 inches during the day 4 inches tonight.)
  9. Just posted...working on 9 inches. Looking at radar, this looks like it was still part of the synoptic event and was lake enhanced. Hoping for another several inches from lake effect!
  10. It's been pouring snow here for the past two hours. 1 to 2 inch per hour rates. Making up for last night quickly. This is the "Winter Storm Warning" event. Between 8 and 9 inches for this event since last night. Hoping to make it to those double digits!
  11. Same here! Snow has set up along and north of the Thruway. I think Drivers Village is considered Cicero. Wife said that her commute was very frustrating because of all the dodos walking out in the middle of the roads.
  12. Hmm, hope this happens! With 1000-850mb mean flow oriented out of the northwest slowly becoming west northwest the Winter Weather Advisory for Lake Effect snow should play out nicely. HREF 1 hour mean snowfall over the eastern Finger Lakes suggests that inch an hour rates should be possible generally along and north of the NY Thruway through around 11pm.
  13. Thanks for sharing. Yeah, Toronto would be a tough city for a winter lover...especially when Barrie right up the road gets walloped. I hope you have some great opportunities to enjoy your amazing snowfall this week!
  14. I am quite perplexed on what it takes for CNY to get a decent synoptic snowfall. It's like we need the perfect thread-the-needle situation. These lows are too far south, but if they come even the slightest bit too far north for us to actually get affected, we warm.
  15. Perhaps another 4 to 6 inches here tonight and tomorrow morning. Come on, Lake Ontario! Onondaga County Tuesday Mostly cloudy. Snow showers, mainly in the morning. Total snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches. Highs around 20. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of snow 80 percent.
  16. I was just about to say that! It's picking up bigtime here already and the good banding hasn't even arrived yet. Gives me hope for a good thump under the bright banding. It's been snowing decently here since around 10:30 this morning and outside of a short lull at lunch. Let the games begin!
  17. To be honest and more positive for my immediate locale...it's been a better winter for Northwest Onondaga county/Baldwinsville than the rest of the county (other than maybe Tully down in the hills).
  18. After a lull with lighter rates, it's snowing very nicely again with that banding over the Finger Lakes heading here. Looking forward to the next 12 to 18 hours here. Could possibly hit double digits.
  19. Perhaps we can get that system that's starting to show up for next Saturday to make it up to CNY? Maybe? Please?
