  1. Congrats on your engagement and impending wedding! Still, I say NO to an early Spring.
  2. I didn't say anything heavy. I just said nice (which is vague and can be interpreted differently). I've noticed you almost having a "corrective" tone in your replies to me (a temperature different of a degree, or a different dewpoint reading at SYR.) Any particular reason, or are you too just reporting observations? I would say there is a nice snowfall falling here actually. Pretty, sparkly flakes with a new fresh covering since an hour ago.
  3. Looks like Niagara on the Lake, Ontario and Niagara County, NY are getting a nice snowfall. Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario - Queen Street | FirstWebcam.com | Live Webcams from Firstwebcam.com
  4. We had a really nice burst come through this morning that dropped about a half inch in about 20 minutes and then the rest of the day was pixie dust showers and flurries mixed with sunshine.
  5. Mood snows throughout the day here, with a light snow falling right now. I'd say between half an inch and an inch has fallen throughout the duration of the day. Might be more like a collection of 10 dustings? Looking at the 18Z GFS, I just can't believe with all this cold air we still have lows going to our north and swooping up mild air.
  6. Rgem showing a bit of a WNW flow bringing some light lake effect over the next 24 hours and then a nice looking band Sunday night. That would be a nice little hit...but 3 days away, so lots can change.
  7. Oh, yay...just where they DONT' need anymore snow... The Niagara Frontier sure has had a great winter compared to normal and many other places in Upstate NY.
  8. Syracuse Snow weenies...hopefully, perhaps? The lake snow will initially be oriented parallel to Lake Ontario and impact mainly areas along and north of the I-90 Thruway during the day Sunday. Could see a couple inches of snow into the southern Tug Hill and as far south as Syracuse by sunset Sunday. and, then... whoop, there it is (get ready for 40 and showers on Tuesday): A weak warm front out ahead of the system will lift north early Tuesday and produce an area of snow showers. The surface low slides to the east on Tuesday across nrn NY and a nose of somewhat warmer air is able to push north across PA into central NY. This will allow temperatures to climb into the upper 20s to mid 30s. Some of the snow will mix with or change to rain for a brief period of time late Tuesday.
  9. Fresh positivity. We were saying the bolded above back in December 2019, and yet here we are...
  10. General consensus of the models is the clipper track continues to our north and anything to our south remains suppressed. We continue to rely on the lakes to provide some snow in some variety.
  11. Can we please just have a low that doesn't hump Lake Erie and Lake Ontario?
  12. I like that it shows a variety of wind directions for almost all to cash in a bit.
  13. Yup, had a dusting last night and this nice burst of snow this morning. Maaaaybe we'll squeak out an inch. I have become very leery of much snow when hearing or reading "NW winds."
  14. The Canadian and Ukie offer several shots throughout the period. I was surprised to see the Ukie picking up on chances for decent lake snows early next week. It doesn't often show lake snows much. As far as tonight, I am a bit skeptical of getting much lake effect here. Just doesn't look like much to work with. I would love to be pleasantly surprised upon waking up though...
  15. Thanks, Wolfie. You can see, as a result, they both keep the banding over Lake Ontario/your location while bringing the dry slot (and rain...see the little specks of green around the glorious Sizzlecuse on the GFS...lol). It's like the never-ending new norm. A day of cold...a bit of lake effect...24 hours later a warm "clipper" that dirties and melts the snow as temps hit 40s. I know many snowmobilers who have just given up riding and selling their sleds because they say it's not worth it with how often conditions are trashed. Next week looks to offer some better chances...but I have also said that before during this winter as well. Lol
  16. It sure would be nice if we could get that "clipper" on Tuesday/Wednesday of next week to track SOUTH of us and not over Ontario or a Great Lake.
  17. All of us had done the Maid of the Mist and agreed this was much better. You legit get to be pelted by the waterfalls (if you so desire). So invigorating!
  18. Seems like a bit more than what our offices are talking about, but a fresh 4 to 6 inches would be nice!
  19. True. It does make a difference in rate of melting. But thankfully with low dewpoints, I think that has been limited? I find it both fascinating (and of course irritating as the winter weenie I am) how much the Thruway corridor in NY torches due to a Southerly wind...even with a solid, dense snowpack!
  20. Good ol' Sizzlecuse. The temp just keeps pumping up and up. Every time I think it's hit its max temp, it goes up another degree. The one thing this city CAN count on to overperform is warmth. I knew when I saw 38 degrees for the high that we would work towards almost the mid 40s. Always 5 degrees warmer.
  21. My friends came up for a visit this past summer and we did the "Cave of the Winds." If you or anybody else on here has never done it, I strongly recommend it. Such an incredible experience! The Hurricane deck stands at a spot where the Falls can literally produce hurricane force winds...and you can stand right on it at the base.
  22. That Euro run, while not heavy with snow, is one of the best ones I've seen so far this season. Plus, it's not accounting for higher ratios. Would love for that to happen, as it's only til next Wednesday and is in closer range.
  23. Agree with everything and same conditions. Dewpoint nice and low around 20 degrees.
  24. Negative Nathan posts aside... Positive Pete post says the NWS offices look to be forecasting 3 to 6 inches tonight for those of us SE and ESE of Lake Ontario. Hopefully we can get a nice surprise. Rgem (Yay!) and HRRR look good for it.
