    Yeah, I actually wasn't expecting any accumulations this afternoon, even though it was forecasted. As soon as heavier rates kicked in and temps dropped early this afternoon, it started laying.

    Road maintenance and plowing: I'm not a big "taxation fan" ,but this is one of the best use of taxes in this state. I am very impressed with the state (at least Upstate) in this regard.

    That's because we either doubt it's going to happen or it's just a part of our lifestyle to have enough things stocked up... we also know how well they take care of the roads and that we won't be trapped in our homes for long.

    Ha. It's been snowing here for hours but it's super wet. No rain.

    This winter has been an extreme trial in patience for us in Syracuse. So many times Buffalo and Rochester are getting snowed on and we wait...and wait...and wait... hopefully tonight and tomorrow produce.

    Ha... we have only had ONE school closing this entire season....and that was barely necessary. You seem to think schools are always closing...when really we would all love a few snow days...especially during these crazy times in education.

    32 degrees. I agree. It seems like a waste. I see precip is breaking up again over the Finger Lakes Shredder. We'll definitely have to wait til later today for good stuff.

    Morning obs from Lysander 7:30 to 8:30 - Rain/Graupel mix 8:30 - Snow mixing in 8:45 - Changeover to snow 8:45 to current - Wet snow, no new accumulation due to somewhat light rates and K-sizz effect; 32 degrees

    Definitely going to be another "overnight high" in KSYZ... been so many the past few years. Southerly wind keeping the furnace going.

    Perusing through the Great Lakes forum, it appears wave one underperformed in many places. Report of 5:1 ratios today...yikes. Many posts saying that the model numbers were way too high. Wave 2 is coming with more cold air available though, so we shall see. But, this would be a good "head's up" again to stick closer to the 10:1 ratios and NOT Kuchera.

    I can't decide if this is good or bad for us? If it actually makes it here, we could get more snow tonight and tomorrow than being called for. But, that might push the best snows tomorrow night to the south. The models look to have already shifted the best band just to our south (including the Rgem which consistently gave us the best goods). Maybe it won't make much of a difference?

    Indeed! That algorithm has yet to be added to the models.

    I agree, but the way in which you requested it was a bit harsh. And...it's Tim, so assume the map will be Kuchera. That cancels out one of them.
