  1. I've noticed that BUF just takes whatever the Rgem shows and runs with it as their snow maps.
  2. Yet even THAT MAP shows the N. Syracuse Weenie Screw Zone. lol
  3. Impossible to get a mistake past you, Mr. "Refresh 10 pages/second."
  4. He just lost all credibility. And he was doing so great...
  5. Moderate snowfall here with MUCH BETTER flake size than all day yesterday. I love watching the flakes swirl down quickly over watching rice fall from the sky.
  6. Eh, I'd much rather be pleasantly surprised from reality than disappointed from false expectations. Ironically, I tend to be an idealist than a realist..which is probably why I get bitter from disappointments. lol
  7. Awesome shot! Seems like the winds are keeping them out over the lake.
  8. Looks like a more solid area of snow starting to form to the south and west of CNY and moving this way. Perhaps this brings us another 1 to 3 inches this PM.
  9. No, I was being a dork. Who cares about rain? I pretend it didn't happen.
  10. Yes, we know. Western NY is awesome this winter....... lol
  11. @Syrmax was right on with his call. Per usual, heaviest snows skipped over us with Western NY and then Oneida County and up through the ADKs getting more. Some day I will learn to accept the model showing the LEAST amount of snowfall during synoptic snowfall as closest to fact. The winds weren't even from the NE, so I don't think it would be downsloping from the Tug. My observation was it was quite windy, which often seems to happen as well...and shredded/sheared snowflakes.
  12. Same here...very much "lake effect-like" as the sun just popped out for a few minutes while the snow is falling.
  13. Best snowflake size of this entire event falling now. I can actually SEE the snowflakes easily. SWFEs hate Syracuse. Our topographic situation sucks. We shall see what today brings! Hopefully several more inches so we can near a foot.
  14. There's a dude on here (Jebman) who was also a poster decades ago on, I can't remember if it was Easternuswx or Wright-Weather (former forums), who is extremely passionate about winter and his walks. At the time, he lived in the Mid-Atlantic (now Texas...strange...lol) and would post about his many walking adventures in the snow with many adjectives. Just a very funny, enthusiastic guy who "blogged" his "Jebwalks" for all to read. The term has stuck.
  15. Flake size has finally improved the past half hour. Looks like it might continue for some time.
