  1. I don't think we really lost any of our new snow here today. It has compacted some with the freezing rain today. I enjoy looking at the snow with the shiny glass-like surface. Highest temp was 33 degrees, and now down to 30 degrees
  2. Wow, the international models look FANTASTIC for the Syracuse area. Someone remind me not to get too excited. Still have over 24 hours...
  3. Went to bed around midnight with light snow starting. Woke up at 5 am to go the bathroom and there was 5 new inches! Bummed I missed the heavy snow...but nice to over-achieve. Could have gotten more last night than what we get tomorrow.
  4. Going to bed soon. Hoping to wake up to a surprise over-achiever. I feel like this may have a possibility overnight.
  5. BGM cut back on the snow totals a bit already for the watch. Went from 4 to 8 down to 4 to 7 with "heavy mixed precip" mentioned. Not a huge difference, but looks like they're going with the runs showing more mild/mixed precip. They seem to be playing it very conservative. Probably a smart move, even though the Big Snowstorm Me doesn't like this change.
  6. The models are like catty school girls. One moment they're BFFs and agree on everything...then it's like they get pissed at each other and stomp off and do their own things. All. over. the. place.
  7. Um, so at 18Z the GFS had the Low down in WV. Now, it has it in North-Central PA! Then it goes to Harrisburg...and then I'm assuming the new low is in Southern Vermont? lol High quality tech?
  8. Hmmm...GFS coming in nice for tonight for the Thruway corridor from Victor to Syracuse to Utica/Herkimer.
  9. Very interesting if that's true...because it seems to be one of the best at the Lake Effect aspect.
  10. Tonight's event is actually looking pretty solid across much of New York. I wouldn't mind a several inch snowpack encased with a layer of ice and then covered with another thick layer of snow. The ice helps to protect and preserve snow against the numerous thaws. It's what helped preserve the snowpack we have here in the north SYR burbs from almost 3 weeks ago.
  11. As you can see, Rochester easily holds on to the title that Freak loves to talk about.
  12. The other HRW's don't look nearly as widespread with those great of amounts...but that one matched pretty well with the 00Z NAM
  13. Sorry, I lied...posting one more map...haha. BUT it's a good one.
  14. You guys are going to get an awesome storm. Especially with the snow spotter you have there.
  15. I'm done posting maps. I'm sure you can all imagine what's going on in my head right now. Lol
  16. Lol...I can't even. Yes, I'm know I'm negative. This is the CRAP that follows me wherever I go. Still over a day for it go even farther NW.
  17. ARWs are coming in warmer too...with the mix line sitting right over the Syracuse area. 12Z had it well SE of here.
  18. The 10:1 NAM (mostly 3K) runs at 00Z are much less than they were at 18Z for the Southern Finger Lakes up through the Syracuse area. Rochester "Winter"
