  1. Hot weather and a big ice storm? You and I can't be amwx friends anymore.
  2. Nope...you made your call at 6 to 10. Not allowed to change now....lol
  3. https://rochesterwebcam.com/live-webcams/rochester-new-york-jines-restaurant-cam Doesn't look like "heavy snow"...light to moderate?
  4. I had a feeling that might happen, and admit it's a bit painful knowing that we are just missing it. However, challenging myself to be content with what we do get. When I compare to others, I just get jealous instead of being thankful for what I do have. Soooo, here's to our friend in Oneida area...I think we have a poster from there?
  5. Yeah, it's coming down heavily. 1 to 2 inch per hour snowfall rates in my area. Unfortunately, the heaviest banding is just to my east...reports of 3" per hour under that band. We over-achieved and got 5 inches from the first wave Thursday night, then a lull yesterday, then got caked in freezing rain last night, and have now picked up 5 inches in 3 and a half hours and still coming down hard. Waited all winter for SOMETHING! I'm fairly new to the Syracuse area, and have been told that these tracks have been very rare lately. Seemed to happen much more in the 90s. Thankfully, Lake Effect and Lake Enhancement come into play (but even those have been rare this awful winter.) Average 140 inches a year here. We still have a long ways to go, but this storm should help. Enjoy your snow, Pittsburgh friends!
  6. Oh, and Syrmax, seeing a picture of your dog eating a squirrel is much more interesting than watching Buffwx's wee weeing on icy snow..........
  7. That's my old stomping grounds! I will now name this storm in honor of the Amish, Snowstorm Zebediah! Calling The Weather Channel right now!
  8. He's a beautiful dog. What's his name? I'm with him! Down with 80 degree heat!
  9. So the models that had the band farther east were correct, eh?
  10. Nah, the wolves in Alaska are all encased in ice after the state decided to hog the Polar Vortex.
  11. Easily over 4 inches already since it started a couple hours ago! Cleared up the driveway, cleaned off the car, and went for a mattywalk...love snowfalls like this because it is so quiet. Everybody hides inside and it's like I have this whole beautiful Narnia all to myself. The car was encased in solid ice under the snow. Took 15 minutes to break through and get it cleared off!
  12. Happy to see you guys getting some snow. Been a string of really rough winters for you!
  13. Yup, large snowflakes falling here under the bright banding.
  14. BUF and BGM rarely seem to collaborate on things. One boosts totals, while the other lowers...or vice versa. They are like the GFS and Euro. Huge difference in their maps this morning.
  15. And then BUF lowered totals on their map. I can definitely hear sleet pellets hitting the windows here now.
  16. I just went for a jebwalk in the light freezing rain. Trees and cars getting iced over. Road was ok...I could tell it was starting to get slippery, especially on the colder sides of the roads.
  17. A number of the 00Z runs HRRR and RAP look great though. Not saying any of the models look bad for us...they all look great...just the heaviest looks like it may set up east of us.
  18. Latest trends now have SYR out of the heaviest band. Cazenovia to Utica now looking like the prime spot. Hopefully no more farther east. This has been such a tight situation. One set of model runs I am thinking no more west...no more rest...then it's no more east...no more east...hah
  19. Did I really just watch a video of your dog taking a leak?
  20. BGM updated their WSW for us to now include "localized amounts up to 12 inches."
