  1. Well, gee, maybe it will rain in Syracuse. The temperature has JUMPED up 5 degrees here in the past hour as soon as the wind turned southerly. It's unreal the amount of times we have hit our highs at night time this winter. Looks like temps will drop back once precip starts, and dewpoint is lower currently. The temperatures in Central New York definitely rise and drop faster than what I'm used to from West Michigan.
  2. I did in fact have about a quarter of an inch of snow on my car this morning. So, that makes it day 7 of the past 8 where I had to brush off my car before work.
  3. I'll be in Florida next week, sooooo get reeeeeeeeady, Upstate New Yoooooooooooork!
  4. Like we've talked about before, the track could look consistent for days and days and days and days....and then shifts within 24 hours. Then, when you're hoping for that 24 hours shift to happen, it won't happen. lol
  5. Enjoy this rare sighting of a lake effect snow band! I was staying up to see if I should go for a Jebwalk...but that nudge back north on the radar answered that one. haha Good night!
  6. Bummer, looking at radar, it looks to be staying in Oswego County.
  7. Interesting. My P&C just went up to "2 inches of snow" overnight. As of now, just getting some snow showers here. If we get snow overnight, it will be the 7th morning out of the past 8 that I have had to brush snow off my car. We had a surprise heavy coating this morning. Probably one of the most wintry periods of the season so far. By the end of the week, that could be 10 out of 11 mornings.
  8. On a different note, looks like a nice little band flaring up off Lake Ontario.
  9. Hmm, ok. I'll take your words for it. You guys definitely know Upstate New York's climate better than I do. Maybe it's a good thing the mesos are farther south. If I recall correctly, they have generally been farther south with systems than what they actually end up being.
  10. BGM's forecasts for Syracuse are often depressing....lol I have noticed they either over-forecast or under-forecast snowfall amounts. They did pretty good with last week's system though.
  11. I'd say those are some pretty big changes. Unless I'm seeing things wrong? Other than craving the white stuff more than most people on the planet....
  12. Not sure. Then it's just weaker. lol 1 to 3 inches.
  13. If it was created by Millennials, EVERYBODY would get snow.
  14. What I find unbelievable is that the models for days and days showed a consistent swath of heavy snow over the big Upstate Cities. Now, with in the normal 1 to 2 days, they shift. Why am I STILL surprised over this?? I just don't learn!
  15. Actually, it shows rain/mix for the first couple hours to the north of the snow line over the Lake Plain.
  16. The 0Z HRRR looks like crap. Then again, I don't really find it to be a very good model.
  17. I have stepped back from looking at the models run to run as well. Too tiring. I did read one of the NWS discussions yesterday that said they were only expecting 1 to 2 INCHES of lake effect on Friday because of flake size. They said it would be a "greasy snow" so not sure how impressive it will be?
  18. Gotta spend those $6,000 a year taxes on something....why not salt?
  19. GFS starting the NW trend at 6Z? I know it this setup, it will only be able to go so far NW. I see it starting to ruin S. Onondaga county and amounts are less for the county.
  20. I am glad it comes (HOPEFULLY) before I leave for Florida on Saturday morning. Going from single digits to mid 80. The wife will be heaven...I will be in he......
  21. Looking at Wunderground stations across Central and Western NY, it's pretty incredible to see the temps so consistently right at 32/33 degrees across the board.
  22. What a nice surprise! I immediately went for a walk as soon as I looked out the window. Working our way towards an inch already here in the No. Onon. area. Big, wet flakes covering everything. 31.5 degrees. Roads are extremely slippery. Even if it changes to rain, the roads will be ugly for the morning commute. Hoping to wake up to a big surprise!
