  1. With the Low taking the track it looks to be tracking, this will be a Westerly wind to SW wind lake effect event, with most synoptic missing much of Upstate NY. Doubtful the last minute shift S and E occurs.
  2. My call for this area: An inch or so of synoptic, and then 1 to 3 inches of wind-blown snow showers.
  3. For sure. This winter has brought back some memories of waiting weeks for any winter time fun like that in Lancaster. Graduated from Penn Manor in 2000. Best winter storm I have ever experienced (even to this day) was the Blizzard of 96 in Lancaster. 36 inches in a day and a half.
  4. Have a jet that can take me to the North Pole! Time to get this Polar Vortex to split and flee.
  5. Oh, so YOU and I are at fault for destroying the snow climatology of Central NY! Some of the guilt has now lifted.
  6. Considering they haven't even had an inch there this winter....they will see 30 to 50 times more snow than they have all winter!
  7. Hah. I grew up in Lancaster County, PA...very similar climate to yours in NJ. I am traumatized for life.
  8. Will we be surprised? Or disappointed? The Finger Lakes Fryer looks to be ruining the synoptic part.
  9. So I am heading back to PA to get some things from my parents, as my wife and I are moving into a new place in the Lysander area. Guess when I am leaving? Friday evening through Saturday afternoon...right when the best chances are for LES here. Get your shovel ready...LOL
  10. I will go with your experience and wisdom on this. Yet another snoozer in the Syracuse area? I am again surprised by how much more snow we still have on the ground here though compared to the city and areas closer to it.
  11. I was just down in your neck of the woods this past weekend. Surprised at how many things were already budding down there!
  12. The 18Z really looks meh for down here. Amazing how much the models change with each run.
  13. I will say...even for those outside of the main snowbelts, most areas will have fresh snow on the ground by the end of the week. It looks like a rare case for this winter where we will have cold AND moisture very much available for several days.
  14. So the Low goes due north through the Finger Lakes? Hopefully it makes a farther SE run...
  15. Time for me to go back to Florida? P.S. to all the GEFS maps being posted...Are we really going to believe the GEFS??? They have showed that exact same snowfall setup sooooooooo many times this winter...and failed. I would love to believe them, as they look good for us in Central NY, but I am highly skeptical.
  16. Whew, I am SO glad I did not move to Geneva, Mt. Morris, Canandaigua, or Penn Yan. Talk about a consistent screw zone!
  17. You can already see them trending that way in their forecasts being issued. Now, we are at, "Chances for snow showers" instead of the many days of "Snow showers likely" that they had for us.
  18. Yawn. Same ol' pattern of warm air nosing up through the Finger Lakes while Western NY gets snow. Then most of the lake effect will be up north. We all have the windows open at work because it's so warm.
  19. I was thinking the same thing. Looks like it may stall out and wrap cold air in from the southwest...which is definitely a possibility.
  20. Near Harrisburg. 60 degrees. It was colder in Savannah, Georgia yesterday. Warm air continues to rule this season.
  21. Called it. 55 degrees in Winchester, VA. I am bringing Spring with me. I don't know why I was given such power.
  22. Woke up to a chilly 24 degrees in the mountains of Western Virginia. Colder morning here than Syracuse. Will be back to Upstate this evening. Good morning!
  23. That would be the ultimate smack in my face... Finally a WNW lake event while I am gone, and a nice over achiever...just to come home to days of 40s and rain...AND a Westerly lake effect event with all the snow just to my north. Gaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh
  24. The models are still awaiting what my final decision is...will he extend his vacation through next week? Slam those upstaters with snowfall? Oh wait, he is coming home? Wagons west, boys!!!! (P.S. No way I can stay down here longer. Work duties call....enjoy your rain next week. lol)
