  1. You might just hit 175 inches yet...................................................................
  2. Thanks. It must have snowed another inch just while I was outside...25 minutes? I was SOAKED when I came in.
  3. Pounding heavy snow here. Roads caved about a half hour ago. Huge flakes. Car has between 3 and 4 inches on it! video-1584983248.mp4
  4. Looks like green out is suuuuuuper early this year. Certainly past the Mason Dixon line already.
  5. Well, we lost the support of the HRWs...they now look more like the Canadians. Can't believe I got sucked into one more screw job.
  6. Canadian models are pretty much the only ones showing not much snow at all up here...so which ones do we go with? Them, of course......... Can we just skip to summer? For many reasons....
  7. BGM is determined to keep this more rainy in the Syracuse area with the snow more to the East...even though several models are showing a decent hit for Northern Onondaga county. I think they hate to call for snow in Syracuse. But, at the same this, this winter has blown chunks with almost every event. This has been one of those winters where not having higher elevation has been torture.
  8. Per usual, Bing NWS has the least amount over the SYR area. Most models have the heaviest to our east. North, west, south, and east.....all....bloody.... "cold" season. Oh, can't forget "higher elevations" getting the snow pretty much all winter. Phtttttttttt…. I guess it was nice to see cold sunshine today.
  9. Yep. Politicians: They're all the same. And any individual who starts with the "us" vs. "them" when it comes to referring to the "other" major party only condones the division that has occurred in our country. Unfortunately, there isn't much of a way out of it, with politicians, corporations, Pharma, and the media all linked together to make a hostile force.
  10. Oh my. That is very difficult to read. Praying for you and your family. I think many of us are sharing similar sentiments as you. I am required to be at school this week to teach, and any of my students could easily be undetected carriers. We have made it optional attendance, but parents are messaging me sharing how this is such a scary time of so many unknowns. If we're closed for the rest of the year, I could very easily see many families' jobs, including my own, being cut. My wife works in an accounting firm and this is their BUSY season, so there is no way for her to stay home...so she's interacting with people and their mailings from all over the country. So many different circumstances for each individual. Just a reminder of how small our world really is when looking at the big picture. May you have some clarity and peace about what lies ahead in such a confusing time.
  11. Shhhhhh...I don't want to be hooked up to a bajillion testtubes and wires as they try to create a vaccine off me...........
  12. Maybe Coronavirus will avoid the Syracuse area just like all the snowstorms did....Does it work that way?
  13. Schools are closing here in Onondaga County starting this Friday. Students are not required to come during this week though. It is an open plan for parents to find services for their kids, while not forcing students to go to school. I think it is a very good plan. I know with the school I work at, I am now required to start posting lessons in Google Classroom. I just hope that no cases pop up in the county this week! All 30 some people tested so far have had negative results. But who knows, it may very well have arrived here over the past two weeks. Things are moving so quickly!
  14. My co-worker's brother was on hold with US Air for SEVEN HOURS on Thursday. Only option to cancel... This week has definitely been an adjustment for everybody...
  15. Unreal. This is so ridiculous. It was 60 degrees when I woke up this morning! Man, what an awful 4 months for winter weenies like myself.
  16. It's funny, after living in Michigan for 10 years, I got used to the Dutch ruling everything...Here in NY, it's the Italians. Syracuse has MANY Italians. Statiscially, there are many Irish here too...but I (Irish on both sides) definitely feel like a minority.
  17. A Westerly to WNW flow lake effect band being predicted? Congrats to Watertown and Alex Bay!
  18. I still, amazingly, have some icy snow left in the shade as well. Went for a little walk last night. It was one of those odd spring evenings where I walked in one area and it was warm, then I would walk into a patch of very cold, dense air. It was pretty neat.
  19. So when the PV breaks down and the indices change, will that bring cooler weather...like a cool summer when it does? Or would it all just flush out because of different seasonal connections to said indices?
  20. The Syracuse sizzler will hit 63 or 64 degrees.
  21. So, been under bands on radar, but NADA. Virga. However, downtown Syracuse is getting steady snow with accums. So odd.
