  1. I can't believe the snow is STILL missing us to the south and east...lol. I know part of it is lower elevation suckage, but it's clear the track is off to the south and east.
  2. I will say I was NOT happy when Trump cut funding towards taking care of the Great Lakes. Those large freshwater ecosystems are vital for so many things...including local wildlife but also for human use. He has done a number (negatively) to our country's National Parks system too.
  3. Thanks for that explanation. Interesting...makes one wonder where we would be right now in relationship to China during this Pandemic if he wasn't the president.
  4. The whole thing just confuses me. I am definitely not a financial expert so I will step back on that and learn from some of you other guys. Perhaps the U.S. feels more comfortable going into huge debt because pretty much the whole world is struggling financially right now?
  5. Glad you were able to find something. I still think it's ridiculous to pay that much a month as we, the people, have definitely lost control/power when it comes to the healthcare industry. I know there was NO WAY I could afford the $900 a month health insurance that seems like the average.
  6. Haha...Yes, I am a bit surprised to be reading you type this. How refreshing!
  7. Not sure about that...It could just go and sit in the banks or some private accounts in the Caymans. $2000 a month is absurd. I haven't looked into it, so I don't know who the recipients would be. Sounds like more excuses for people to NOT find jobs. That's like a lower middle-class monthly pay.
  8. Thankfully, not everybody falls for it. I remember learning about propaganda all throughout my school years in the 90s....
  9. How can the Trump administration be "privately projecting" when it is now public? A leak...or just trying to pinpoint things before causing a huge panic? It's the manipulation of specific news with these subtle adjectives and adverbs to provoke a certain mentality that irks me to no end. Maybe it's the ELA teacher in me...
  10. He gave some hints. Per Rochesterfirst.com, "According to the governor’s office, the Rochester and Finger Lakes region is considered a “low risk region.”"
  11. This actually really surprises me. But, there are some pretty strict guidelines: Based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, regions must have at least 14 days of decline in the total hospitalizations and deaths on a 3-day rolling average. In regions with few COVID cases, cannon exceed 15 new total cases for 5 new deaths on a 3-day rolling average. In order to monitor the potential spread of infection in a region, a region must have fewer than two new COVID patients admitted per 100,000 residents per day. Regions must have at least 30% total hospital and ICU bets available. Hospitals must have at least 90 days of PPE stockpiled. According to Dr. Birx, 30 tests must be available for every 1,000 residents per month. Regions must have a baseline of 30 contact tracers for every 100,000 residents and additional tracers based on the projected number of cases in the region. Open businesses in phases. Businesses must have new safety precautions. Regional control rooms to monitor the rate of infection Stores must have at least 50% of their toilet paper aisle stocked. I made a slight change and added one at the end...
  12. Thank you for your candid and humble response. I was a bit anxious about my comment to you because of its bluntness. I appreciate it.
  13. 70 this weekend...snow next weekend! 5 months of November and 2 months of March. lol
  14. Lighten up? Your posts come across quite confrontational. This causes people to be on the defense. (Ahem, the first time you came after me because you thought you knew everything about my teaching job.) Because somebody's not a flaming liberal, they're equivalent to Hannity? Some of you libs on here need to relax a bit...it's allllll doom and gloom. For example, Australia is doing great. Does that mean things won't get worse there? No. However, there is a difference between planning wisely...and going into a panic. Australia's winters are MUCH warmer than in the northern half of North America. But, because they're going into "winter" it means cases ARE going to rise.............................????? Is the DNC paying you guys to post these things? George Bush said many years ago that we weren't prepared for a pandemic. Democratic and Republican presidents later, we're still not prepared. Failure on all sides. Stop trying to blame everything on one party. How about stop lashing out and belittling people just because they don't see something politically the way you do.
  15. Passed many people walking during our walk today. Most were in good spirits and friendly. It was very refreshing. 70 tomorrow and then it's back to March weather.
  16. LOL...Um, wow...That...was...interesting....haha. They twist information just as much, if not more, than the American media. First, the quality: it is like a 14 year old boy created that video. How can one take it seriously? I mean, Trump obviously has the ability to be offended by it and overreact waaaay too much. Now, if the Chinese citizens somehow allow this video to feed into a "we need to take America down" then it could prompt some concern. This video, to me, is like an SNL skit. Second, where is the outcry of citizens yelling "Xenophobia!!!" at the Chinese? (I roll my eyes at the desire to make everything into a xenophobic/gender/race issue) Lastly, I am waiting for the video that demonstrates how the Chinese Responded. "We are all good! Nothing to see here! We barely lost anybody!" "Oh wait, where did these 40,000 bodies come from overnight?"
  17. You guys are making me miss having a home. I am an avid landscaper/gardener and I would be out every day in my yard if I had one during this pandemic. Maybe after a year we'll find an affordable home in Lysander.... do "affordable" and "Lysander" even go together? lol.... we could afford something in downtown Bville I suppose. Maybe a smaller home with a good piece of land will open up between here and Fulton. I will have to get it the DAY OF listing, as things go so ridiculously fast here. I miss digging in the earth!
  18. In that case, "pop one up" right in inner-downtown Redfield, NY.
  19. I think we all just need a little bit of "Scrantonicity" to cheer ourselves up...
  20. Yesterday and today have been quite gusty. I went for a walk at Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area (Love that place) yesterday. There is quite a bit of open area right in there, and there were times where I really struggled to walk forward against the strong Easterly winds.
  21. Been trying to cancel a hotel reservation I had for Tennessee later in May to see if I can get it canceled. Lots of fumbling back and forth between booking.com and the hotel....lol...I can't imagine some of you waiting hours and hours to cancel your flights. Geesh. Thankfully I got somebody who was helpful and jolly. He sounded like an Irishman.
  22. Lol...I knew you would disapprove, Buffalowx! I almost included you in my post.
  23. If you guys need a few minutes of silly humor, I have enjoyed watching this video, along with its part 2, several times. Kristen Wigg is definitely the star. (Did you know she's from Canandaigua!?)
  24. Yes!!!! If it was 70 all summer with 50 to 55 degree lows and no humidity...I would be in paradise. Any volcano explosions available to block out the sun's direct rays?
