You can. I am skeptical of some Americans being responsible enough in doing so...or they will choose not to just so they can find a way to be "saved" when tax season comes.

Interesting discussion, guys. My wife works for an accounting firm and yesterday we were talking about the taxation of these unemployment checks. Without a doubt, people are going to spend their total income from these checks, and not put anything aside for when tax season comes. What will we do then? Print more money and bail them out??? Although it won't fix human greed, America needs to do a much better job at teaching its citizens, at a younger age, budgeting strategies. We spend, spend, spend...but so many don't know how to budget, save, and work with what they have. Sure, we need cash flow...but it needs to be cycled in a more responsible manner.

What has happened to our winters?!?

I want to apologize for the lack of compassion I showed in my post yesterday. I know this has been a rough time for many. I battle in myself being joyful that people who are downtrodden are being taken care of vs. being frustrated with those who take advantage of everybody and everything (of which I have no control over). Peace.

I grew up in Southern Lancaster county. The southeastern third of York county into the bottom half of Lancaster county is a Thunderstorm alley. Cells pop in Southern York and then explode as they cross the river. I saw many funnel clouds growing up and LOTS of wind events. I have yet to experience storms anywhere else as bad as I did growing up in the West Willow/Conestoga area.

Today marked the 20th day Syracuse has hit 90 degrees this summer! 7th hottest summer on record...July was hottest on record. Mercy! Give me some below normal months!

I hope we can get some more moisture to benefit the Fall color changes coming in the next 1 to 2 months. Otherwise, it is looking to be yet another lackluster fall foliage season added on to the string of recent years.

Ok, this conversation is irksome. First off, there are jobs available. Easier to sit around and get money then go apply for jobs and actually work for a paycheck. Second, there are people who work their butts off and don't make 600 bucks a week. Perhaps people need to start prioritizing and cutting things out that they realistically can't afford. Ohhhh, that's right....people can be irresponsible and selfish with their money and then get "bailed out" for it...while other hard-working people have to pay for the stupidity and idiocy of others.

Cool September through October and cold November through Mid-April. :P

I have LOVED this very brief cool-down. As I look at the extended forecast, what the HECK happened to our slightly below average temps that were supposed to come??? I see 8 consecutive days of temps in the 80s and a few close to 90. Gah. Let me guess - the tropical systems will push the ridge north?

Another sign lake effect season is beginning. The forecast was for SUNNY today, and we have had gusty pop-up showers throughout the day. Getting one right now. Love it!

I was interested in that event, so I was watching the videos of it on YouTube yesterday. Do you know how Lysander/Bville area faired during the event? I've been looking for places in the Granby area...close enough to Fulton to cash in on some of the westerly bands, but close enough to work in Bville. I also prefer rural living. I love Baldwinsville and find it to be a beautiful village. Housing is definitely more expensive though and sells so FAST. I still include Bville and Phoenix in my search.

These pop-up storms that have fired up are nearly stationary over the areas where they form. I'm impressed you got those winds like that in the current setup.

When I lived in Redfield there were many times I would go from a solid snowpack to nothing on the ground in Pulaski. It seemed the days with grass showing easily outnumbered the days with a pack there. It was just one winter...but it was easy to see how location at a low elevation and near the lake was a big negative for snowfall. It's insane. I am casually checking out houses for sale and if you don't check EVERY DAY here in Baldwinsville you will likely miss out on a house. Listed one day...gone the next. It's a bit discouraging because the "Real estate game" is not something we are particularly interested in. That's why I say "casually." Lol

Indeed! The amount of rain that fell in such a short amount of time...wow! Geisinger Medical Center's ER was flooded with water.

Visiting my family in Danville, PA (You know, the reason it's been in the cool 70s all week in upstate NY...lol). I really think a rain-wrapped tornado went through here at 9:30 this morning. During the storm, I was watching the wind blow from the west for 10 minutes...then all of a sudden it shifted briskly from the east for 5 minutes. Flooding, hail, and wind damage around. No warning whatsoever. Chainsaws being used all over before this next storm moves in.

Sure! I am trying to share the radar image, but it keeps telling me it's too big. I can hear chainsaws going all over...trying to clean up quick before this next storm moves in.
