  1. I'm getting mixed messages from this mask. "Don't be a turkey." But...the turkey is on the mask...so if I wear the mask, won't I be a turkey?
  2. This summarizes every snowfall so far this late Fall/early winter...the snow hole of Northwestern Onondaga... lol
  3. Pretty solid band of Lake effect precip over Madison county. Checked the webcams, and sure enough, it looks like a thin strip of the Canastota area is getting clobbered pretty good. Based on temps and what I've observed here, I am guessing it's heavy graupel falling there...making for easy accum. on the roads. The thruway looks dicey. Here in NW Onondaga it's the usual Yaaaaawn. Mixed light rain and graupel showers. Always thankful for webcams.
  4. Tomorrow night is looking a bit more interesting for some snow across much of the region before we warm up for Wednesday. Starting to get some graupel showers here with the light lake effect beginning to kick in.
  5. Lol. I teach ELA, so my writing is often filled with dramatizations.
  6. Yup! Unfortunately for me, my job's location in Baldwinsville is at minimum 40 minutes from a good snow retention area outside of Upstate tropics. Not willing to do a long commute, so remain, I shall...and live vicariously through webcams and snow on car rooftops...lol
  7. Finger Lakes Fryer in effect. South wind kicks in and it's nearly 50 degrees here in Syracuse. So ridiculous. Commonly the warmest spot in the state...even above Long Island. Oh well...wife likes the warmer climate, even though she thinks it is still cold.
  8. Soooo, how about that Cuomo conference today? I don't know how anybody who hates Trump could love Cuomo....they're both pompous, loud-mouthed men who talk down to people. If you love one and not the other, it's strictly based on your political convictions...at least in my opinion. I did agree, and appreciate, Cuomo making sure to stress that the local government has the power and responsibility to try and control the rates and spread (in the yellow zone), while the state will step in once an area passes 3%. Now, there can be debate on what threshold 3% or 6% or whatever dictates state government stepping in...but 3% is our state's number. It seems like a more respectful way on giving "some power" to the people instead of just stepping in like some state governments and just shutting everything down. We've already seen that with the whole "every school in the yellow zone must test 20% weekly" thing where it has loosened up because results/stats have showed very low numbers in the schools. Now it's every 2 weeks, and that can still change based on numbers. I feel that this conference was a HUGE warning that he will not hesitate to shut everything down (he didn't say that at all in those words) but kept referring to "if we continue at this rate, this place will be orange and that red, etc..." which, in other words, "shut 'er down!" He seemed to imply it was inevitable with all the visiting that will be happening over the Holidays....but still hasn't given any orders.
  9. ...And then again, it looks like early this upcoming week, the higher elevations south of Syracuse will get another couple inches while we still wait an inch here. I hate living in a lower elevation!
  10. The 8 to 14 day outlook looks like an El Nino look.
  11. It's been snowing in the Syracuse area off and on for the past 2 hours. Some big flakes and some nice bursts.
  12. In the ridiculous tropics of Upstate New York, Syracuse made it up to at least 66 degrees.
  13. Getting us warmed up for months and months of cutters?
  14. This November has had some pretty big swings. Snow and 32 degrees one day, 65 degrees 36 hours later, and then more snow possible 36 hours after that. For sure, it has been biased much warmer, but we get those very brief little shots of cold and snow. I guess that's better than having a complete shutout for weeks and weeks.
  15. The HRWs actually look pretty good for the lake coastal plain. I know to definitely take that with a grain of salt though
  16. Outside of the ding-aling son....is anybody going to talk about the "mask beard" the lady is wearing at 5 seconds in? It's amazing how the face mask has become an even more important device for some...and the most useless thing for others.
  17. I bet there were several teachers huddling in corners crying all night...but you didn't notice. You were having a blast. lol
  18. They're oblivious to what's happened to the state under Cuomo. Many like him solely because of their experience of his response during Lockdown #1..which was media propaganda to make him look like a savior.
  19. Time to write another book: "How I Won an International Emmy"
  20. Lol...I have been thinking about this movie lately. If we're all zombies in a year........
  21. I appreciate your apology. Thanks. I wish Falls were LONGER...favorite season! (I lived in the Muskoka region of Ontario for 1.5 years...most beautiful falls and wintriest area I've ever lived!)
  22. Thanks for the suggestion! I have legit been thinking about it some more this year. haha
  23. Nope...climate sucks. lol All places have their pros and cons though. New Yorkers are a tough people with rough exteriors...but very, very generous. Also, there are many hard workers here. Southerners tend to be more passive about getting things done and have some of the "fake" hospitality.
  24. On that note..maybe you should worry about your own province and country. Rude, isn't it?
