  1. Enjoy your snow, WNY friends! You will have a beautiful White Christmas!
  2. No wonder why people are so depressed here. I now get excited as I see a moment that the sun shines as an exciting weather phenomenon... it's the brightest thing we can get.
  3. Eh, I think you guys will get a couple inches. The Cuse will probably get another wet dusting that melts within an hour. It really seems to be a climactic norm here . Especially these days.
  4. Syracuse looks to be left out of both synoptic and lake effect. I'm shocked....................
  5. Meh, NAM continues to crap. The Low retrogrades and dances around. No such thing as a "normal" track any more apparently.
  6. lol...I don't live in the Tug anymore. (Only there for a winter)
  7. At least you guys had that storm last week. Over here in Central NY...still waiting on a good snowstorm. Painful is when I get 4 inches of snow, while an hour south they get 40 inches (last week). Here in supposedly the "snowiest major city" in the country, we're still waiting to hit the 12 inch mark on the season...which is really lame when you live in a lake effect area.
  8. Yeah, as somebody who lived in South Redfield for a winter, close to the Reservoir...the town gets NOTHING like they do 5 miles to the north or east (higher elevation there). The town itself is in a dreaded transition zone.
  9. Ha! NNW of Syracuse...a couple miles south of the Oswego county line. But, really the Syracuse area has been in a crap hole of light snowfalls and consistent thaws the past couple of winters. Everything dancing around us. Maddening. You wouldn't know we lived in the "snowiest major city" in the country...
  10. ...and halt it just to my north. Perhaps I'll be able to arrive home to a dusting? Too much to ask?
  11. I believe Barnes gets hits harder by thaws in the winter. Being on the north side of the Tug, it can downslope and warm up pretty good on a southerly wind.
  12. I'm feeling like this is going to be a winter where it's a cutter...then a miss to the East...then a cutter...with us in the screw zone. Remember the days when on-air mets used to talk about "Apps Runners" tracks??
  13. I've seriously been considering moving there, but my wife would have my head....
  14. Thanks for the update! I was checking Syr 9's Bville cam and see there is still snow, as well as some big flakes coming down. Low dewpoints ftw?
  15. Ha! Good luck with that. This "winter" has SUCKED yet again...at least so far...you guys have had more snowfall down there than we have up here! A couple inches...that will melt before Christmas. So, hoping for lake effect snow that has been MIA the past couple winters...unless you're in Worth on the Tug.
  16. Looks like a continuation of "chasing snowfalls 5 days out" that never materialize. Tuesday looks like another putrid airmass with what will probably end up being more high-elevation snowfall and wet slop that melts away in the urbanized valleys.
  17. How much snow has survived back home in our community? Get any additional snow the past couple days? P.S. This post put me ONE over you in post counts!!! Your response will make us even again.
  18. Ha! I've been watching from afar just shaking my head...Is there any way Upstate, especially Syracuse, can get any good snows these days? So, I'm in Clarksville, TN, which is the VERY southern/western edge of possibly getting something. Any slight move east...and I'm out. lol I guess I'll get to see some snowpack on the drive home the whole way along I-71.
  19. Seriously, guys?!! Seriously?!!? I will be in Tennessee until next Saturday. I told you...I am leaving...it's coming. Enjoy your snow.
  20. The only "decent" WNW lake effect event last winter hit my area during the ONE week I was in Florida for winter break.
  21. Lol! Yep! I'm leaving Saturday. Ready to watch the current rain/snow showers and 40 forecast change to blizzard for next week? Check at 8:01 am...you'll know I left.
  22. 3.5 to 4 whopping inches here. Some of the lowest in Onondaga county and across western and central New York. Looks like the models that had that little dry pocket pushing down through Oswego county were right...of course. (One of the few places that underperformed.) Even most of Oneida county got more. Congrats BGM and Southern Tier! Based on temps for next week around 40 for the highest, you guys are guaranteed a White Christmas. Here in tropical, snow bubble Syracuse, I'm not sure the several inches will survive through next week.
  23. Between 2 and 3 inches here. It's hard to get with all the blowing and drifting. Biggest storm of the season so far....lol....I suppose another 7 hours of this and I could get 4 or 5 inches. Have fun, BGM posters!
  24. Not really. Maybe 2 inches here. Snowflake size sucks and wind. Dry air and wind ripping the flakes apart?
