  1. Hmmm...across the subs over the past week, there was chatter about things getting better after 01/20. Checking out the models, STILL looking at rain possible with any synoptic system that comes...all these lame Lows cutting across the Great Lakes with mild air. Better pattern after Chrismas....then first week of January...then January 10th...then Jan. 15th....then January 20th....gee, when have we seen this crap before??
  2. Better be...or Imma start settin' things on fire...
  3. That looks amazing! Those Japanese push and drive through that snow like it's nothing!
  4. I grew up not far from 95....winters were MUCH sunnier.
  5. Nice. Hope you get some snowfall to enjoy, Erie county friends.
  6. Whoa...apparently the Mid-Atlantic sub has taken the term "weenies" literally. Had to check the link to make sure I didn't stumble upon some weather porn site.....
  7. I will gladly take it! The brown, dark, barren landscape is so depressing to me. As I've said many times, give me the bright white of any snowy landscape and my mood is immediately lifted. There is a bit of a psychological component to it. Waaaaay too much bare ground during the winters this past decade has been hard on me. Snow cover, snow falling, snow all over warm-weather weenies...I want it all.
  8. It looks like Europe and Asia, of course, are the beneficiaries of this PV split. We shall continue to tinker and dawdle. Was nice to see snow falling for 2 hours today...even if the dusting went "poof" the second the sun came out. haha
  9. So, what happened to our big pattern improvement starting in mid-January? Am I missing something, because it looks like the same crapola we've been dealing with...too mild...low too far south and east...blah blah blah. One model showing a Low over NYC and there's like no precip. back here. Another one shows the Low well to the east and we're getting light rain. I really am just flabbergasted.
  10. Whew...I sure hope they're underdoing our dusting for the next event....and we get half an inch. Gotta play with the big dogs.
  11. Yes, caffeine is a dangerous drug that I am shocked is so clearly accepted in society. As an individual who has a great interest in mental health (especially with my own OCD), I have done some research on chemicals and their effects on the body. Caffeine is a chemical produced by plants to mess up and confuse the nervous system of predators (consumers) that would otherwise eat them. So what do humans do? We put those nervous system-toxins INTO our bodies!
  12. The fact that that is rain, on the back side of a cold front, in the middle of January, is just disgusting.
  13. True. The pattern this winter seems to be either the Great Lakes lows bringing too much mild air in, or the waves are forming just out of our reach to the east. We've had a combination of both this year. Primary holds on too long into the Great Lakes and then secondary forms too late. I see signs of this continuing yet again for this upcoming weekend and potentially next week.
  14. It has such little snowfall for this area because it has us STILL getting rain in our "colder" pattern next week. Wow, if this is our "new" climate, it totally sucks.
  15. Yup! The winter of dustings!!! It's actually snowing very decently here at the moment. It's been a steady light snowfall for the past hour. The trees all have a nice layer of white with the ground getting dusted. Biggest snowfall of January!!! LOL
  16. Maybe for you guys, Watertown, and the Tug. Here? Yawwwwwwwn.....
  17. Even up here in Central Upstate New York, it's been the same I am at 16 inches for the entire season. No cold air for lake effect.
  18. Don't you have a solid snowpack still like CNY does?
  19. Here's to a snowier-trending week hopefully leading to a solid second half of the month. Good night, guys.
  20. Fun seeing cold fronts reaching the Caribbean. Brings back memories of the cruise I went on there back in 2016. Good times!
  21. Looks like BGM NWS shared it on their page. https://www.weather.gov/bgm/
  22. 00Z models are trying to give us some flurries/snow showers for the beginning of the week. Hey, at this point, snowflakes flying through the air are accepted.
