  1. I don't like my spot for any event. hahaha.... Can I tranquilize my wife and move us to Springville now?
  2. Locations across Upstate reporting Light Rain right now...including Watertown... lol https://forecast.weather.gov/obslocal.php?warnzone=NYZ013&local_place=4 Miles SSE Sonyea NY&zoneid=EST&offset=18000
  3. I guess what I meant to say...is the 00Z models showing the flow QUICKLY going too NWly and you know what that means for the weenie zone north of Syracuse...
  4. Actually...several of them DO show western NY and possibly to 81 corridor getting rain...lol Either a whiff or come north and rain...some show it staying all snow though.
  5. Looks like many of the 00Z runs are looking yawnirific in terms of our incoming lake event.
  6. Waaaaaay west. Most of us in Upstate New York haven't gotten squat...unless you live on the Chautauqua Ridge, Tug Hill, or Binghamton.
  7. Seriously, HRRR?? This model is like the GFS of short-range models. Night and day from one run to the next. Ok...so the band...just doesn't happen?? 18Z vs. 00Z at same time
  8. Ha! Yep! I'm RIGHT on the 6 inch line. If I sit here watching the radar and the band runs just west of us the entire event.......................................................................
  9. Oh, look at that. The temperatures over performed today. Shocker. Models need to be programmed to take into consideration what seems to be a rapidly warming climate. Snow is melting one day after it falls again...still a couple inches though. Thankfully and hopefully we get a good little thump tomorrow to make it a super wintry weekend.
  10. Might be stuck in the transition zone here tomorrow. Hopefully the band is farther north than it often is shown on models. But, it it's straight NW winds, we usually get on the outer edge. No. Onondaga transition zone...
  11. Just have to accept that the synoptic pattern sucks this winter. We can't get the streams to link up to produce some good times. One or the other dominates, and it's too much of one thing.
  12. LOL...Yep! I wasn't even going to focus on that part, but since you mentioned it..... OF COURSE it did!!!!!!!
  13. Nice! We went away one year during the winter when we lived in Michigan. While we're gone, a couple of synoptic storms hit....with freezing rain and sleet mixed back and forth with snow. Our driveway was IMPOSSIBLE to get into after the plows pushing it and it freezing over. One of the few times I did NOT enjoy shoveling my driveway!
  14. Agreed. I hope the "36 degrees" tomorrow doesn't ruin too much. Rochester went from "snow champs" last year to being North Carolina this year.
  15. Wow, that's tough. Lakeshore areas are really getting whiffed this year. I work with a couple people from Oswego, and they said they haven't gotten much at all this winter. They said there are actually many times where we have more snow than they have right in Oswego.
  16. Look at the Rgem trolling the snow weenies in the North 'Cuse burbs...lol
  17. My chance to be there might have passed. The wife said if we move to a different location again, it's Florida or Virginia....lol Looks like I'll just have to hope for some COLD northwest wind winters to come...yikes...haha
  18. Checking out radar, I can see the band possibly starting to reestablish itself on more of a NW wind...not as heavy and perhaps the whole multi-band situation.
  19. Been snowing heavily in Bville area for the past couple hours. At least 4 inches new since around 7 am. Probably finish off with 5 or 6 inches as the band is about to do it's sweep out.
  20. Yup...been a disaster of a synoptic year. Looking at models, it looks "yaaaawn" but at least there is snow over us. I saw New England with NO snow through the end of the month. I haven't checked out their sub at all today, but I'm assuming there's gnashing of teeth.
  21. Now that the band is east of us, it stalls out and reforms just to our east. lol
  22. We had a legit whiteout here around 3:15 this afternoon. Real gusty and 0 visibility. Picked up about 3/4 of an inch in about 40 minutes with this last band....maybe close to an inch. Hard to tell with the wind.
  23. Is this band that's over the Syracuse area actually an extension/enhancement off of the Erie band? It's so hard to tell. Maybe from both lakes?
  24. Snowing heavily under that band moving through Onondaga county. Probably 1 to 2 inch per hour rates. I just laid here for about 20 minutes looking out the window watching the big, beautiful fluffers.
  25. How do you only average 115 inches? I imagine if Lake Erie didn't freeze (maybe it won't anymore?) and we can get cold air, your average could definitely increase.
