  1. Nam is inching farther north, but is weaksauce. Rgem looks like a decent light event....general 3 to 5 inches. Won't be enough for a snow day, but will be a good topper if it materializes. The students were mentioning this week how much it stinks that we have yet to get a snow day. (The teachers agree on the inside. lol) Even with Virtual learning now a thing, my boss is firm on snow days being snow days.
  2. Sun has broken through here as well with moderate snow continuing.
  3. Same here. Snowing moderately with thinner clouds.
  4. Great! This has by far been the best winter week of this season...several days with whiteouts...and then last night's little dump. Sat by the window for quite some time and went for my Jebwalk late last night. My wife hasn't looked out the window since getting home from work last evening. She refuses to see what has fallen. Lol.... Complete opposites!
  5. Thanks! Maybe I passed it on to Dave. What I'd really like to do is pass it on to that pesky Carol Yerdon....
  6. Took this around 7:30 this morning. Snowing nicely again since then. With the few inches during the day and then the quick dump last night and then lighter snow overnight...I'd say we received about a foot. This is what we got after I parked my car at 4 pm.
  7. About to hit double digits here! It's been pouring snow. Could hit a foot if this band stalls for a bit now. Multi-lake connection LES are quickly rising to one of my top favorites...especially if you can get under them. Back in West Michigan, it was mostly just one lake - Michigan. WNW winds CAN produce some pretty awesome snowfall rates around here...unfortunately, they're less common than the other wind directions.
  8. Bahahaha...Apparently @rochesterdave competing for "the curse" of the snow weenie.
  9. I can't believe it's taken til January 22nd to get to a 6 inch snow depth! lol
  10. Eyeballing the amount on my car, I would say we've picked up 5 to 6 inches just this evening. Hopefully the band reorients over us and keeps hammering.
  11. Hey, Matt! I use the following webcams: https://www.armorycam.com/ (downtown Syracuse) https://webcam1.lpl.org/view/view.shtml?id=806946&imagepath=%2Fmjpg%2Fvideo.mjpg&size=1 (downtown LIverpool by library...miles SW of your location) https://511ny.org/map#TransitRegion-10 (NY state traffic cams...I focus on the Syracuse locales) https://www.localsyr.com/skynet9/ (Central NY webcams)
  12. Looks like the band may be just starting to shift to more NWly with that big blob over the Hannibal area heading down to Northwest Onondaga county.
  13. Several new additional inches here this evening. As the band snakes back and forth, we are in and out of heavy snow. Checking out webcams, Liverpool and Syracuse to the south are dry, while it's a winter wonderland here. Heavy snow picking up again.
  14. I definitely prefer the WNW angle/tilt compared to a NW one. It still looks like a more WNW angle even north of Rochester as it moves south.
  15. Similar here. Picked up several inches in a couple hours. Hopefully it will come back south and park over the Syracuse weenie zone.
  16. Exactly. Was that the arctic front that went through this morning? If so, the temp is still above freezing. lol
  17. For reals. The flow is over us now...but these snowshowers are weak sauce. Look decent on radar but nothing more than heavy flurries.
  18. WHY did I think moving to Northern Onondaga county would be a good choice for lake effect snow!!!?!?!? Holy moly..this place sits in a transition zone. Almost always north or south of us. Today it will be just north...and then especially just south.
  19. Hmm...not sure what to believe. The Rgem is the only model at 00Z showing a good hit for the south lakeshore. The others (check out the GFS at 30 hrs, @Syrmaxlol) are showing much more to the south. BGM actually shifted the "heaviest snowfall" axis to the north and east a bit as of 9 pm.
  20. Rgem still gives hope for those in the secondary snow belt that's missed out this year. Hope this works out for us Rochester and Syracuse people!
  21. So true! My apartment complex didn't mow for a long time in the fall so now the grass is super tall....driving me nuts! hahahaha
  22. Such a big shift south on the 00Z runs for the lake effect band. It's going to take a huge error for this area to do well. Hopefully I am missing something (besides snowfalls) If the Rgem follows suit, that will be the nail in the coffin. Hoping to get enough to cover up the grass blades (that finally got covered for about 36 hours) that have started poking through with today's overachieving thaw.
