  1. Yeah, when I lived up in Redfield, there were several systems where downsloping certainly affected the Rome/Oneida County area (of course I paid more attention to that area when I was closer.) Syracuse seems to be far enough away that downsloping doesn't affect this area during storms much. It's those torching southerly winds that get us at other times!
  2. Lol...I know...grasping at straws...hahaha...Yes, I believe it normally freezes over.
  3. I mentioned the downsloping earlier, but a couple others said that wasn't it.
  4. I wonder if Oneida Lake has ever enhanced snowfall on an easterly fetch?
  5. My parents in Eastern PA are going to get clobbered for the 2nd time again!
  6. Is there any specific location this system would need to move so that Syracuse gets into that heavier banding? I don't know whether to hope for it to be farther east now....lol...or do I have to go back to 1966 or 1978?
  7. Seems like the 00Z runs in general seem a bit weaker with things.
  8. I agree. We know most likely this will be a system with some intense banding...hopefully the wealth can be spread more than the December system.
  9. Interesting. In PA, we would have horrible downsloping from 1,000 foot hills...but then again, that was often with a drying, NW wind.
  10. Can't forget the models probably struggle with picking up on the possible enhancement on a NW flow as well.
  11. The GFS is really trying to get the goods into Syracuse....and....Binghamton! lol
  12. The 00Z models are really pushing on the downsloping off the Tug in Oswego County and possibly northern Onondaga.
  13. Does your area have downsloping issues with systems?
  14. Like I mentioned earlier...want it more NORTH than West. West doesn't do much in reducing these dry pockets/downsloping. Need deeper moisture.
  15. Is the North Syracuse weenieville ever NOT being trolled!?!? lol
  16. Lol! After someone brings Dave his beer and maps, can you please bring me a thick towel, moist towelette, and sanitizer shower before I throw up in my mouth?
  17. I think I'm gladly going to eat crow on my call that this would be suppressed. Whatever happens, this upcoming week definitely looks more active and interesting than it was looking just 2 days ago.
  18. Wow!!!! I can barely contain my weenies with that run!
  19. He originally heard there were weenies in here...but it wasn't the ones he was looking for.
  20. I would prefer it more north than west. That would put us more in the solid band and moisture stream.
  21. BGM sounds pretty excited about the upcoming possibility. At this point, they're not talking big impacts for up here yet (of course) but they did say, "Well, this sure escalated quickly." lol Oh, and I didn't realize sunshine came from the Arctic! For Sunday, the sky will vary considerably from Arctic sunshine across the New York Thruway corridor, to thickening clouds from Twin Tiers southward ahead of the next system. Highs will be generally lower to mid 20s, but some hilltops not getting out of the teens.
