  1. That's not what I was referring to at all. It was lighthearted joking about how at the end of these events precip. winds down and it looks like it's done and headlines are dropped. Then, all of a sudden, we get some more that forms. I was not saying headlines are necessary.
  2. Well, I asked... Dollar store rage...interesting....
  3. Same here. Snow has really picked up again in the last hour. It's the "Winter Headlines Cancellation Effect." We can thank BUF NWS for their contribution.
  4. I have to admit...and you warministas will love this...when I went to Orlando during winter break a few years ago, I actually enjoyed the weather. Low to mid 80s, LOWER sun angle, and extremely low dewpoints made for very pleasant days. It's incredible how much the summer sun influences the intensity of summer heat.
  5. Hahaha. I agree! So now we know that wind and red mulch trigger your rage. Anything else?
  6. Start a tropical page with people who actually care like@Syrmax and @BuffaloWeather. I hope you're having a wonderful time in your tropical paradise.
  7. Snow picking up again here. 6ish inches in 12 hours time, so made it to the low end of forecasted totals. Many parts of the BGM area did not get what they were expecting, and BGM NWS is taking quite a beating on their FB page! Yikes... lol
  8. Grass is so overrated. Stupid invasive weed that takes tons of time and money to manage. Yes! That would slow the melt-off with less heat being absorbed as well. Genius!
  9. You know it's been a rough winter when you're talking accumulations on mulch. Take what you can get, right?
  10. Yup, what else is new. Lol. The warm punch aloft always comes in faster and farther north. It was about a 4 to 5 inch thump of snow for the Thruway corridor. Then, a couple hour window of dryslot and sleet/sizzle, and now the deformation band with moderate to heavy snow. So I "think" we will still make it to forecasted amounts here thanks to the backside.
  11. My favorite thing about deformation bands are the dendrites. Large and enjoyable to watch fall. No need to find a dark object and squint to see the flakes. Lol
  12. Heavy, wind-blown snow here. We shall see how we do on this side.
  13. Based on radar and a secondary being LATE, that might be all she wrote. Not sure about much backside stuff. Always go with the model showing the least...and no Kuchera-leading-to-crushed-dreams maps!
  14. Looks like 4 to 5 inches here? And... it's now started sleeting. Shocker, shocker. Not.
  15. Really coming down out there. Much more wind than I was expecting. Looks like "blizzard" conditions out there!
  16. Glad you guys get to see some white before the freezing rain.
  17. Some of the models seem to be hinting at what could possibly be a pretty intense band that forms just to the north of the mix line (as we know often happens). That is very much looking like the Thruway corridor. Although it's not the best model, I LOVE the Ukie. Why? Because while the GFS and Canadian doddle along, the Ukie comes out like the Bingo caller who is trying to rip through his/her numbers so he/she can go on the next smoke break. It's done before the grannies have finished dabbing their numbers.
  18. Well, not the ones that have hit Southern New England that we actually WANT to come north...
  19. Well, look who decided to wake up from its Labatts coma and come to work...
  20. To think...the ICON saw this and held on to it for a few days while none of the others did.... 1 point for Icon?
  21. They recently updated it just before 10 (so after seeing those meso runs) and just added the wording of "sleet and freezing rain possible" as well. ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow expected and possibly sleet and freezing rain. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 6 to 10 inches. Total ice accumulation of less than a tenth of an inch. * WHERE...In New York; Onondaga, Madison, Oneida, Cortland, Chenango, Otsego, Delaware and Sullivan counties. * WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 4 PM Friday.
