  1. See! Why pay money for a radar that's just going to show me how I'm getting screwed?
  2. I was encouraging him as it connects with BUF's forecast...which was becoming less trusted. Trying to find positives here!
  3. You were under this. Unfortunately, it looks like the majority of that one is going to be south of me...grrr...but there is more upstream.
  4. Also, it looks like the precip is starting to spread Southwestward from the North Country towards Rochester now.
  5. The bands are starting to break up into more cellular bursts. I am assuming perhaps some afternoon sun/heating involved? This may help the snow to become a little more widespread in the form of heavy snow showers.
  6. All my concerns with every event this winter have come true. Even the banding trying to move into Onondaga continues to get shredded by, I'm assuming, downsloping right from the higher elevations of Lewis county. Smack another 4 incher into the synoptic books and move on. The models aren't really showing the Lake enhanced precip building in until more like tonight. I think BUF is way too early in their thinking, but perhaps they wanted to put it out there "just in case" something develops. But, like Delta said, it's pretty evident from looking at a radar that this is a mess with dry air throughout.
  7. They did until I moved here. Lol. It's been horrible bad luck. Sorry... getting off now because I am irritated and am done filling everyone's morning with negativity.
  8. Yup. Snow hole over the Cuse is only getting bigger. Legit just closed the blinds and getting off of here for a bit. Haha
  9. I am quickly learning Syracuse sucks synoptically. I expressed my concerns about this a couple days ago and some said downsloping doesn't occur here. WNW winds are the only thing that seem to be able to produce here
  10. Several observations: 1) It is like a giant downslope party in the Syracuse region. 2) heaviest bands are up in North Tug and north country where they weren't supposed to get much at all. 3) Snow hates me.
  11. Bands just keep falling apart. Seems like the higher elevations are the only areas getting steady snowfall.
  12. Perhaps lake enhancement can offer some pleasant surprises from Roc to Syr? HRDPS seems to be the only one really showing that though.
  13. Side note - How did you do with yesterday's snow dump? Looked like it was a fun time?
  14. Snowing very nicely even as the lighter greens move back in. Clouds are thin... with sunshine brightening up the thin overcast.
  15. This is one of those events that is maddening because you watch the radar and think, "Oh, here comes a good band" and then it just disappears and is replaced by dryness.
  16. Have you received anything yet? Just as I typed my last post, another subsidence zone appears to be forming here.
  17. Whew. It looks like the band made it here for several hours, but really did peter out so that those just west are probably still waiting. About 4 inches in the last several hours and the snow has tapered to light snow. Judging from King's pictures, Caz has way more snow than N. Onondaga. May need to rely on the lake getting involved again to actually get a "Synoptic storm" of over 6 inches. Sanity still here, but on life support.
  18. 6 flakes... Do you think I will EVER get to join the party?
  19. For real... Infuriating. Scientifically, how do we get this stupid dry pocket OUT of here? (Besides murdering me)
  20. Watching this stupid dry slot over western Onondaga county persevere...looks like I am going to be one of those who is in the let down zone I talked about....while King dances in piles of snow. My snow shield has commenced. Not even a dusting yet.
  21. Unreal. I called it. Band has been sitting to our east the past 4 hours...now as it starts to move west it JUMPS over us Bahaha. (Laugh of insanity)
  22. Sorry, guys, It looked great as it was moving in...and like I had said, it might hit a wall when it gets here...and at least temporarily, that's what it's doing. Whatever. Going to bed. Maybe I'll wake up pleasantly surprised. Good night!
  23. I had about a 5 minute snow shower here in the synoptic snow abyss of Onondaga county. Just looked out window and still nada.
  24. You can see a real solid band forming over Oneida, Madison, and Chenango counties. It's either going to push through here and get things started, or I could see it setting up shop over those counties and dumping. You can see how the precip around it is being absorbed into the band.
