  1. If the GFS was correct all the time, we'd have 500 inches of snow and 700 inches of rain every winter.
  2. I'd like to see the Para move it a little bit more SE.
  3. I am really liking that we are close to the center of the swath, giving us some room for north or south jogs.
  4. That Euro though...still drying to downslope a bit off the Tug. Nothing like that debacle from last week though... lol Sometimes they have to track my current location because that plays a big role in determining snowfall totals as well. Not often that you see both continents of Europe and N.A. with so much cold spread throughout. Pretty cool to see the U.S., with all the watches and warnings lining much of our seaboards from West to South to East.
  5. Yay! Looking forward to what could be an amazing week of winter coming up!
  6. 18 inches from just the lake effect?!?!? Wow...that's definitely more than we have on the ground from the past couple weeks.
  7. Getting a heavy snow shower right now. Going outside to enjoy it.
  8. Nice pictures from the other thread, @rochesterdave. Looks beautiful. Looks like we have some new lake effect firing up over here on a NNW flow (maybe?) It's like a band may be coming directly towards me. We shall see.
  9. Sunshine once again here. Sunniest. February. Ever. Yaaaawn.
  10. Probably way too high for Synoptic. Dusting to 2 inches is my call.
  11. Snowing pretty good here right now as the winds shift. Brushed about an inch off my car this morning at 7:30. Probably working towards 1.5 inches right now?
  12. If the 06Z NAM and Rgem are correct, we get missed by the weekend event to the NORTH this time...lol Maybe it's a good thing they show it there, as the "southern trend" COULD work out for us....maybe?....perhaps???
  13. It's not a GFS run if there isn't a cutter thrown somewhere in there.
  14. We will just ignore that little speck of pinkish purple over N. Onondaga....hahaha. Hey,, it's over Syrmax and Freak this time.
  15. LOL...Legit story...We worked for a Conference Center up there and one of my responsibilities was to clean up snow. It started snowing November 1st and I was super excited to shovel. Everybody was like, "You'll HATE shoveling by the end of winter." My wife scoffed, and said, "You don't know my hubby." Sure enough...after a looong winter, we get a snowstorm on April 20th something and I am out there shoveling gleefully. The staff walks by and says, "There is seriously something wrong with you" and hurry inside. I'm hard core. I could literally give Carol Whatever her name is Yerdon a run for her money...
  16. Yes! Every time I check the webcam, it's sooooo deep. I NEED to find a place there and put that bloody, stinkin Carol Yerdon in her place!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I'm a snow everything person...LOL. Snow every day...snow hard...lay fast...don't melt...bye bye grass from November through April. (Best place I've lived for that was Muskoka, Ontario for 1.5 years.) My wife cried both those winters. lol ALWAYS have been a snow lover. I remember arguing with a classmate in middle school because I would get excited about snow, and he would say, "It's going to change to rain." or "it's only going to be an inch." He was always the debbie downer of my snow dreams.
  18. Great points. Yeah, I'm learning just how difficult this WNW flow is. We need it here in this area too. The chances are still greater there than in Onondaga county though. Elevation helps tremendously...which is lacking in this particular area. Thanks for the suggestions/heads up. Volney may be my best option, at least for the short term.
  19. I think a couple synoptic storms that actually drop more than 3 inches (more like warning-level criteria) would help in improving the grade for this winter. It's been tough because we went from a horrible pattern with no chance....to a pretty good pattern and still getting missed left and right (at least around here). So many possibilities, but just can't much to click in.
  20. Like Syrmax, I've toyed with the idea of finding something in Worth/Northern Tug Hill.
  21. I think it's too late for me...wife won't make another big move to a whole new area...unless it's Florida or Virginia. lol She's quickly making her way up at her job and is doing great. As much as I love snow, I want to encourage/support her in her professional endeavors. She certainly does for me. So...I've got to find somewhere more local for a more consistent snow high. (Thought N. Onondaga County would be doable, but man...these past 2 winters have been rough.)
  22. Looks like lake effect is beginning to move south again. Wolfie, you're about to get into it again. Maybe a sweep through?
  23. Nice! The setup isn't even really "right" for them to be getting moderate snow!!! My goal is to be in Volney in a year or two (20 to 25 minutes north of here) where they average probably close to 200 inches a year. I just drove through Baldwinsville....where it snows 24 minutes every 7 days.
  24. Yeah, looking good for you guys. It will be nice, fluffy stuff.
