What is the deal with lows coming up through western NY this year? Been pretty consistent.

Let's hope the High(s) to the north stay more stubborn and don't run away like little prisses afraid to get their hands dirty.

On another note... WOW! When was the last time we've seen a radar with precip., much of it snow nonetheless, from the Gulf to Canada?! Refreshing!

Wow. Giving some areas almost 2 feet for the week by Thursday evening as that next system comes in. Just eye candy for now:

@Wentzadelphia, you may want to start out in the North Buffalo burbs/Niagara area, as this is where the lake will be aiding. Then, depending on how you like to travel in winter weather, work your way east towards Rochester, and then Syracuse as winds turn to the NW/WNW and lake effect kicks in off that flow.

The Lake Plains of New York are looking solid on the Nams.

Just woke up...checked out the Nams. Good news! Looks like they are done moving north and west. Looks like a very slight shift of the swath of snow to the South and East of previous runs.

Nice map. Bummed for you and our Eastern NY friends who are going to miss out on much of the snowfall. Wish we could all cash in nicely on one. 8 inches is a good call for here...especially with probably lower ratios than originally thought.

The dots are because there is a running joke that I don't do well snow-wise wherever I am. That is THE inside joke that I thought everybody was aware of. Much of the time is people TEASING me and giving me a hard time about being in the screw zone. Yes, I tend to be negative...and when people on here remind me of it, I try to dial it back. I don't just point out negatives about model runs. In fact, I have been discussing how it looks like there is a good possibility of a WNW flow this week. Does this get many responses? Perhaps part of it is people like to feed off the negative and drama as well? There are times when I try to have normal weather discussion as well. Sorry that the negativity clouds out the times when I am just chatting about the weather and funny things that pop up.

Looks good. Let's hope the Canadians are right on this one.

I warned everybody yesterday and got torn to pieces. Ridiculous winter.

The bold part - not true. I'm not the type to dismiss the thoughts of others. Thanks for your feedback. Yeah, IF this area can stay JUST NW of the "zone" I can see us getting hammered with some very nice banding. It's gonna be so close. Like I said earlier today, I have seen it happen a couple times here climatologically in these these setups that the mix line makes it to the higher elevations from Ithaca to Tully to Morrisville and than halts. The cold air settles and is deep enough in the Mohawk Valley for it stay mostly snow.

Another shift NW.... please let this be the last set of runs that show it...and hopefully move back SE a bit tomorrow.
