  1. Buffalo gets more lake effect snow on a NW wind with a lake 80% frozen now than we do. Currently a steady light snow with some bigger dendrites mixed in. I thought you were going to Maine?
  2. I don't see myself getting much snow here. Perhaps things will set farther north, but I am going with 1 to 3 inches.
  3. I checked out for a few hours. Needed a break from anything weather.
  4. Outside of the obvious forcefield, why does the band bend southward? If it didn't do that, More of Onondaga county would be in the game.
  5. I'm just spent. Seriously. Getting missed in every direction. Just discouraging.
  6. Used my speed dial and got this response: "We've got you covered. From 1 inch at CNY's home in Brewtown to 8 inches at blizz's house in Ska-nay-nay....stay tuned, as 100 mile shifts could always occur."
  7. Someone should draw a geographical map of where that one inch will be...
  8. I just went out to talk to mine and he said, "Yo...wassup with dose back-ta-back major snowstorms dat @BuffaloWeather promised me dis week?"
  9. Dusting #23940 of the winter. I was just puzzled as I heard the plow guy in the parking lot. He's bored.
  10. The weather is not at fault for "plaguing" people. That's my main point. The real issue, as you pointed out without realizing it, is this false notion that people in the US can afford ac and pools for their comfort...just as there are many who can't afford heat. It's easy to forget in the midst of our comfort. Heat or cold...these weather issues bring to light the issues of poverty our nation faces. We temporarily address it during extreme periods of weather, but then it's back to the slums. I am not really sure of the best solution, as there are so many factors at play. In addition, The media has a definite bias in hating winter and feeds into it...which puts anxiety into the minds of Americans about anything winter. Panic...run to the stores..etc...just like the great toilet paper exodus of 2020.
  11. Pennsylvania (including lower elevations) gets several inches. The main piece goes south.
  12. And just like the synoptic systems...the closer we get to the Lake effect event, the farther away it goes. I am so over this winter here. Good snowpack for a month, which has been great. But as far as snow falling and the amount of false promises....just a disappointment. For the future, I will remember the rule for LES is it's either W, SW, or NW. The perfect WNW flow seems nearly impossible...and I will need to have more realistic expectations. For synoptic, who knows. This winter seems to show everything that could go wrong. Seems we've been combatting dry air and/or warm tongues with all. Hopefully that is the worst we can do. But I said the same thing last year. LOL Maybe March will produce...with all the activity we've seen, it wouldn't surprise me...but we need some cooperation between pieces of the puzzle.
  13. I always find it humorous that media outlets use such negative, dramatic terminology towards winter weather... "punished" and "plagued"... I mean, I know it's been harsh for those places and they aren't prepared...but I don't find winter weather "punishing" at all. Rather, the heat of summer "wreaks brutal havoc on layers of my epidermis and murders me by causing a great removal of water from my physical body; In which I assault an air conditioner as I desperately struggle for survival as the enemy reigns on for 90+ days." But you won't ever hear that in the headlines...
  14. This is why I just can't give this winter a good grade. The synoptic setup... Such a kick in the butt when there is plenty of cold down south and they get a train of snow events...then just a few days later, "cold is locked in the north" and we get a train of mixed crap.
  15. Those maps kill me. So many bands have been just north of Bville. Now, we're going to be missed by the best just to the south. This area seriously sucks for jackpotting in LES. Whatevers. @Syrmax says it best when he says we in No.. Onondaga nickel and dime our way to average.
  16. Just looked out the window...I called for a dusting....have like half a dusting. I am still busting high.
  17. I'm a little disappointed you didn't title this one "Back to Back Major Lake Effect Snowstorms for Baldwinsville, NY"
  18. You could just change it to "Back to Back Major Synoptic Snowstorms in Arkansas" and we can just continue chatting on it like normal.....
  19. Wow! I knew they had gotten some nice hits, but I didn't realize that much! I bet some places in Texas look similar.
  20. How are your eyes after that blinding virga this morning? You had me concerned.
  21. Finally, after 6 hours of heavy virga and/or blinding flurries, it is snowing decently here.
  22. A few miles north would put me in the bullseye...so don't count on it.
