  1. I can't wait for the day when I don't have to wear a flippin mask or shield while trying to verbally communicate with a bunch of people at work for 7 hours. I am idealistically hoping....PLEASE.....to not be wearing a "face covering" by September.
  2. Still has a wintry look in the Bville area. Took this pic right in the village. I'd say we still have about 70% coverage? Several inches of white concrete with some powder still left on top from the this weekend's lake effect snow. Places that get full sun all day are of course bare.
  3. Meh...I'd rather have 60 and sun than inches and inches and inches of rain.
  4. Just spent some time perusing our Spring-thread from last year....Wow, it's amazing how things were just a year ago in March. Similarities 1) Entering Spring off of a sucky winter. 2) Syracuse winter sucked. 3) First big warmup came the 2nd week of March. (Almost identical this year) 4) Modeled snowstorms for later March (although we did get some snowfalls) Differences 1) Stores have more toilet paper now 2) Somebody said "Cuomo was killing it" as governor and he was getting high praise. Hmmmmmm.... (lol) 3) THANK goodness we started a Banter/Discussion thread..... 4) Rochester joined the sucky winter crowd this year. 5) Society was shutting down....on the upswing pretty much exactly a year later. (We thought it would only be a 3 to 6 week shut down at this time last year...lol) To be Determined... 1) Will the Southern Tier synoptic snow train continue this spring? 2) Will we have more snow chances in April than we did in January again? 3) Will we be looking at snow maps in early to Mid-May again? 4) Will @BuffaloWeather promise me again that Syracuse does see epic snowstorms and I will see them next year? 5) Will it go straight from snow to 80 to 90 degrees again in May? 6) Will I be the only one happy to still be seeing snow in April and May while Buffwx and @Syrmax have meltdowns because they want to sit by their pools in heat?
  5. Bright wintry morning in the Baldwinsville area. Baldwinsville | WSYR (localsyr.com)
  6. I work in a building with ALL women...who, naturally...hate cold and snow. lol... They won't be too happy if this upcoming week is the only taste of Spring for several more weeks. I'll get death glares because I'm the resident snow hound. haha
  7. We had about 2 inches this morning...some of it melted around noon when we had a break.
  8. 141 really is only like 5 to 10 inches more than N. Onondaga county. Then you've got that little jackpot zone of Fulton and Volney in between.
  9. Snowing heavily still, with what looks like a solid band forming over us (don't think it will last long.) I'm a bit surprised at how well we've made out today. The snowflakes have been excellent dendrites that accumulate quickly. I honestly think we might make it to at least 6 inches on the day.
  10. My colleagues who live in Oswego said that they don't seem to get much more than here. In fact, they said they feel like we get more here than they do! Being right along the lakeshore can really hurt their snow totals with things "jumping" over them. Of course, those tea kettle snows and Westerly bands that hug the shore are we they can cash in.
  11. It seemed like we had more winter March through May last year than we did during WINTER as well! Haha... Oh, Syracuse.
  12. We picked up a few inches from it today. Probably 3 to 4 inches (1.5 to 2 inches this morning...then a break...and then another 2 inches this afternoon).
  13. Heavy snow as this band moves through. Some of the best dendrites I've seen this season during the day time.
  14. Really nice dendrites falling again. It has been a very wintry day today. The first week of March has featured 3 different days with ground coverings...thinking this month may provide more winter than December and January did.
  15. Been getting moderate to at times heavier bursts of snow since 9. Could make it to an inch by 10. Beautiful fluffers coming down.
  16. lol You can see how on radar that band that was working south from Oswego county disappeared and then fired up once it skipped over us.
  17. Looking at the models and seeing the best snows setting up YET AGAIN from the hills just south of Syracuse to just north of Binghamton makes me . Still puzzled on Syracuse's seasonal average. Everything goes north and south. I keep saying it's just a blip, but it's been the same CRAP the two winters I've been here. One event after another.
  18. BGM has these numbers for tomorrow night into Saturday, but only "50% chances." This map is the same as their "highest totals" though. BUF's is below that. (Looks like another jackpot for Blizz over to Tully and Cazenovia.)
  19. The general public couldn't possibly handle a year with Covid AND a removal of weather advisories......
  20. Thanks for this great summary of your local climate!
  21. Moderate to Heavy snow here for the past hour and a half. Ground almost completely covered. Tapering off now. We'll see if it picks up.
  22. Curious if that's up at the airport on the hilltop or downtown. Downtown BGM and along 81/17 they seem to get waaaay less.
  23. The other models show it even more. Southern Onondaga, Northern Cortland, and SW Madison (all higher elevations) cashing in.
  24. Thought I'd post this on the conversation we're having...
