  1. Looks like two more days of 90s coming for Sizzlercuse early next week. We skip from 70s to 90s pretty normally it seems. That'll bring us up to, I think, 13 days over 90 already.
  2. Looks some new storms have popped up to the west of Rochester. Maybe that's your chance. Looks like maybe a bit of a bow echo?
  3. Bummer. Seems like so many setups bring WARMTH these days. With the atmosphere the way it's been lately, it seems to take LOTS to overcome a warm set up and get actual winter.
  4. There's definitely going to be some flooding with those training storms from the Herkimer area over to the Albany area.
  5. It's quickly falling apart over the Niagara Peninsula of Ontario.... lol
  6. The Utica area got slammed pretty good yesterday. 75 mph straight-line winds with damage all around the city. 1/2 inch sized hail as well. So obviously more wind damage than hail damage. They've also had flooding rains several days this week. Here in the Syracuse area, there was some flooding and power outages yesterday, but I don't think much wind damage. @DeltaT13, I'm shocked you guys haven't had any rain there. With all the activity firing up...Seems to be a very lackluster year in the precip. department for your area.
  7. I remember going past Newark many times....sooooo much concrete/asphalt and lots of dirty haze in the sky.
  8. Wow, Newark has officially hit triple digits at 101 degrees. @Syrmax, I found your new summer vacay spot. The friendly, pristine, pollution-free environs of NJ..............
  9. Interesting...we have had so many WAY ABOVE normal nights in the north the past couple years. It didn't even drop out of the 80s here one night this week! It was 87 degrees at 11 pm. Ridiculous. I feel like the climate is changing so much with it commonly being warmer in the northern part of the country and you guys in the south actually being cooler. I know some of that relates to Low pressures hanging in the south...but the atmosphere has been so wonky.
  10. The farther south you go in CNY, the more rain there has been in general. Sort of a continuation of the pattern of the past two years.
  11. Interesting...Peter Hall did not make one mention of the storm in No. Onondaga during his noon forecast...unless that's prerecorded?
  12. Same! About 10 hailstones at the beginning. Lol Thank goodness! I have seen what a damaging hailstorm does in my parents' neighborhood. Moved through FAST. Probably about 30 mph wind gusts (similar to yesterday) and 5 mini of torrential rain.
  13. Looks like the worst of it MIGHT miss just to my North and just to your south? Three Rivers area and North Radisson look like the prime spot.
  14. Yikes. Mean looking cell headed right towards me. Forcefield activation FAILED.
  15. We went from 5 days of temps in the 70s for this upcoming "cool down" to now only 3.
  16. Geesh... Newark is at 99, Boston hit 98, and Hartford hit 98. Meanwhile, Garrett County, MD...a couple thousand feet up, has maxed out in the Upper 70s and low 80s during this heat wave the past several days. I've seriously been considering that area...similar snowfall climatology to Syracuse, and avoids most of the sauna weather of summer.
  17. Heavy, huge raindrops here with, I'd say, around 35 mph wind gusts. No hail, thankfully. Temp dropped to 75 degrees, while just to the South in Syracuse, it's 20 degrees hotter with sunshine.
  18. Severe Thunderstorm warning here for Hail and possible 60 mph winds. Right now, just some gentle rains with thunder. I'll take that.
  19. Yesterday they were way inland...Pretty much trained along and south of 90.
  20. Looks like there's a line of storms forming just north of 90 and headed towards us, so that may cool it down temporarily... into the upper 80s?
  21. Oh...and SIZZLECUSE is... at 91 degrees. Same thing, different day.
  22. I was thinking about this exact thing just the other day. I was curious how much the ACs pumping the hot air outside affects the temperature. Also, I've said it before, and some will strongly disagree... Syracuse is NOT a cold climate city. It's moderate and mild here...compared to almost everywhere else at the same latitude.
  23. Don't be surprised to wake up tomorrow morning and find your pool full of ice cubes.
  24. I seriously wonder....for you guys who have lived here for longer, has it always been pretty easy for Syracuse to hit the 90s? It seems soooo simple. The temp is rarely in the mid to upper 80s...If that's forecasted, it almost always seems to heat up easily into the 90s. This rapid warming is insane.
