    I don't understand how they determine the difference between a "strong" thunderstorm and a "severe" one. Seems like the special weather statements could just be a warning instead?

    Oh, ok. So where was all this precip. in the WINTER? We finally got the overunning...in July.

    Thanks! Sort of like Tamaqua, the ridges around Danville seem to direct the worst storms just to the North towards Benton/Berwick....or just to the south towards Elysburg.

    Family is on vacation, so I have no idea how hard the Danville/Bloomsburg area got hit. Looked like a bow echo moving through there...

    It was humid, but I absolutely loved the temps in the 60s and low 70s today. So refreshing! A/C got a break and windows open wide.

    I was talking to one of the maintenance guys for my apartment complex and he said he had a microburst at his house in Pennellvile (Oswego County) yesterday. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about? lol. Lots of energy this week!

    I think the point I was trying to make, in reference to Delta, is it's absurd HOW much warmer it is in Syracuse compared to the rest of New York State. It's in the 60s to lower 70s almost all across the state...and then...boom...mid 80s here right now! It really is just crazy to me.

    Oneida County sure has had its fair share of severe storms this summer. It looks like there was a possible tornado near Rome.

    Yeah, if the ground was dry, Syracuse would be reaching 98 every other day instead of 92.

    You joined the club? lol It's unreal how quickly this area warms up. I really do add 5 degrees onto whatever the forecasted high is. The days getting shorter is the first reminder we are on the way towards my favorite season... FALL! lol

    Well, there you go....while pretty much every where else in New York state is currently in the lower to mid 70s (even some 60s) Syracuse shoots right up to 80 degrees and is warmest in the state (outside of NYC). Every...single....day....

    I was a bit surprised by this current thunderstorm. There's actually quite a bit of thunder. Just had a sharp flash and that deep crack of thunder. It must have hit very close by. I live on a hill above Baldwinsville and the radio tower is nearby ("higher" elevation here) so I wouldn't be surprised if it hit that.

    Oh my gosh...Syracuse kills me. 22 degrees warmer than Watertown and 26 degrees warmer than Fort Drum. 12 Degrees warmer than Fulton and 8 degrees warmer than Rome. Seriously, this place must sit above Hell.

    Traveling through Steuben County right now. Area near Prattsburgh where it looks like the trees have been devoured by insects... Going through some downpours on the higher elevations of 86. The temp dropped to the 50s on the hills! Ahhh, nice to be out of the tropics of Sizzlercuse... Lol
