It is spreading like wildfire here in the NW burbs of the Cuse. By far the worst "outbreak" this area has seen since this whole thing started. So many people I know have it...possibly my wife... waiting on results....I am the one quarantined to the bedroom. (Lol)

Who would actually be excited to start working in New York state medical facilities right now?!? It's similar to the teaching shortages right now...Who would WANT to start teaching right now? I really don't know how much more I can do this job. It's worse this year already compared to last year. The schools are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The stress, anxiety, and panic...combined with "trying to teach like it's a normal year"....and kids in and out and virtual or not...and mask policing....and crazy Covid-caused behavior and tiktok challenges..and lack of Covid testing...and different viruses/allergies/etc. ramping up even more panic....

Just noticed some colors starting to pop here. In just a few weeks, we'll be talking flurries and graupel showers! (Hopefully!) lol

Sizzlercuse continues its reputation (at least to me...lol) as the high for today was already six degrees above forecasted at midnight (lol). Entered the day at 69 degrees because of the bloody Southwesterly wind that I loathe and seems to occur EVERY day here. Most of the rest of Upstate made it into the 50s with the next warmest being in the mid 60s. Our temperature climate here is almost equal to that of Long Island.

Hey, all. I got my second Covid vaccine on Friday evening. I didn't get any of the "typical side effects" but I truly believe it messed with my nervous system. I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder...and I will tell you, Saturday and Sunday (especially Saturday) were HELL. My brain was stuck in ruminating mode and it was non-stop panic attack-feeling. I couldn't do anything all weekend because my anxiety was so high. Probably one of he worst "episodes" I've ever had. I sat in my recliner the entire weekend. I am feeling more "normal" today. Hopefully it was just a very temporary response of my body (brain/nervous system) responding to this introduction of m-RNA and proteins.

Good thought. I could see that being a possibility. I think most of us are reaaaalllly hoping we can have a winter with a good clipper pattern. It's been quite some time.

Hah! Tennessee?!? Never lived there.... In-laws live there and we visit them...whenever we do that, you guys get winter here. True to form, Sizzlecuze was at the forecasted high for the day by noonish, made it several degrees warmer than forecasted, and was the warmest today of anywhere in Upstate NY. (Long Island was a couple degrees warmer.) The models need to be corrected to make up for the Sizzle effect of the hellmouth of the Cuse combined with my presence.

That Euro map for the winter looks like a "Primary going to Lake Erie and giving us rain, with a secondary popping off New England and missing us mostly to the east." lol A few systems might succeed and give us the slightly higher anomaly.

Maybe the cold front hasn't gone through yet, and it was just rain-cooled air. Dewpoint is still in the mid to upper 60s.. The wind has been in all different directions... SE, SW, W, N, back to stupid SE and SW...lol. I feel like our wind has been from the warm SE or SW for months and months and months...

Looks like cold front finally went through this area. Down into the lower 60s. Yeeeeeeeeessssss.

Any southerly component at all sizzles Syracuse. The wind took a SEly turn at midnight and the temp jumped up 4 degrees. 74 freakin degrees (even went up to 75). If you like cold weather, never move somewhere that has a mountain to the south.

Yeah, the freakin dewpoint is 70....AGAIN!!!!! It's like soup outside. Please....let it end.....Gah!

Thanks, I see your point. It's fascinating how much things err back and forth. Trump is certainly a bully and bullied people during his presidency (and, in general, many liberals hated it while many conservatives loved it)....and now "same people" have switched "sides" (ie. "You tell them they HAVE to get it".... or ... "We will NOT be spoken to like that...' Humans really are quite fickle. lol

Now, come on...it's not only people on the "right" who aren't getting vaccinated. Yes, there are more, but why must we make EVERYTHING left vs. right? It needs to stop. I know very intelligent and level-headed conservatives who have gotten vaccinated. As to your second comment...most of us hope that OTHERS will grow OUT OF the mentality of feeling they need to bully others. Vort's point was that you will NOT get adults to do something by bullying, manipulating them (if they realize that's what is happening), and/or shaming them. Using bullying tactics to get people to get vaccinated is anti-proactive towards the main goal. People have legitimate concerns and anxieties about getting vaccinated. Period. I did...and I had a very level-headed and respectful conversation with a colleague that helped me to decide to get it.

I don't know where Syracuse has their sensor. I think it must be right where the planes spit hot air out their butts... Really? It's the hottest place in the state today other than Buffalo.
