  1. Monday could be a great day of Lake enhanced snows if that Low is off New England. Lake enhanced snows are my favorite! Hours and hours of steadier snowfalls in moist environment with no shenanigans of mixing, dry layers, shear, blah blah blah.
  2. Looks like we might have an interesting drive back from Tennessee on Sunday. At least it's looking like snow and not ice. The last time we came down to Tennessee for Thanksgiving (2019) we came back to Freezing rain around Buffalo, sleetstorm in Rochester, and Graupel storm in Syracuse. The thruway was a disaster.
  3. Boo. Does anybody want to go to Tennessee in my place? @BuffaloWeather? You could float in a pool in mid 50 degree temps? @Syrmax? You could find higher sizzle... @DeltaT13? There might be some strong wind gusts? Takers? Anybody?
  4. There was also a surprise fresh snowfall this evening that put a new covering on top of what we already had.
  5. A couple more Bville shots this morning. This one was a house right by work.
  6. Yeah, we got hit well in the Western and Northwestern Syracuse burbs!
  7. Thanks! Unfortunately I will be in Tennessee for that one. Thanks all for the congrats. When I went to bed the band was starting to set up. We must have had 2 inch per hour rates because I woke up three hours later and much of this had fallen.
  8. 6 to 8 inches here overnight! I am on the leader board for a few days!
  9. You got less at your house than Syracuse? Wow. It's amazing how in a place that averages 130 inches of snowfall a year, that lake effect is irritating. I think it's because there's either a super-narrow band that dumps, but you get missed by it a few miles....or it's the multi-cellular "inch here, inch there" stuff. Not many impressive snowfalls. Anyways, the band is looking like it's consolidating and intensifying a bit more on a more traditional WNW flow aimed right toward us.
  10. Almost 2 inches here. It's redeveloping to our west over Fair Haven, Hannibal, and Lysander. It looks like it might be a shorter band though, so we shall see...
  11. I think it's going to line up from about 481 and south and west.
  12. About an inch and a half in an hour and 15 minutes. More forming upstream, but it's going to be a close call on whether it impacts the Syracuse area or misses us to the west.
  13. Snowing nicely here. From looking at radar, my guess is we will get about 2 inches here by the time it passes through.
  14. Nice. Enjoy! It may be a bit agonizing waiting, but the slower it moves, the better. Better that than sweeping through in an hour. Waiting for you to post your first deck picture of 2021.
  15. Looks like it's falling apart and becoming multi-banded already. Hopefully it's just in the process of reorienting itself.
  16. Webcam shots across Oswego county show some pretty heavy snow falling.
  17. 3 hours after their updated map and BGM already greatly trimmed back totals. lol
  18. You are going to quickly learn how a snowfall that would shut everything down in Tennessee is cleaned up in an hour and life goes on as if nothing ever happened. Sure, people will complain about the cold and snow cleanup...but usually you don't hear too much of that from "most" people until you get the 10 to 14 days of daily several inch snowfalls. Those really can be an inconvenience, as any time you go outside you're clearing a car off or shoveling. But us snow weenies LOVE that!
