How many times have we had this carrot dangled out in front of us this past decade?

I imagine that would be quite the Low Pressure/Cold Front moving along the Rockies and Northern Plains. Does that cold air progress East in the New Year or does a SE ridge just push it up and over us?

This one of the few places on earth where that is very much a possibility. I lived in Redfield for a winter. Little did I know that SOUTH Redfield, where I was, gets like 100 inches less than North Redfield. Still got lots of snow (although the winter I was there was meh)... But it's tough to take when a location just a few miles up the road is getting feet of snow while you get scattered flurries and snow showers... multiple times during a winter. Although they don't drop the massive amounts of snow that Buffaloweather prefers, I like lake effect snow events with variable winds so everyone can get in on the action.

If you peruse the other subforums, you'll see we, even me, are taking it....ok. lol

I LOVE winter...snow and cold. But if it's going to be Seattle weather for the winter, no thanks. I'd rather it be a sunny, 60 degree day with fall colors every day of the winter than 40 and rain.

Yes. I was referring to Synoptic systems as well. You'll also see the lake effect "skip" over you and get enhanced a bit to the east off the elevation rises towards the eastern end of Lewis county.

I agree...I am just looking at it with what CAN we work with....which is the NAO to maybe give us enough cold for a snow/mix at the start of systems...which can often happen in this setup. BUT, as we saw this past weekend, the mega -PNA and SE ridge combo are even making that difficult.

We do NOT want to know what the toothless people do in their spare time.....

Who is ready for some Seattle weather? That's what we are going to be seeing for the foreseeable future. We need some good blocking over Ontario/Quebec but that won't be happening...so the next best case would be for that -NAO to move over a bit.

Our friends on the PA subforum are starting to crack a bit now. All the cold dumping into the Northwest on the 12Z GFS is a bit disconcerting.

Yeah, it ends up making the followup wave an intense burst of snow. I think they're trying to key in on a baroclinic zone starting to set up next week and they haven't figured it out yet.

Lol...Yes, in my defense, if I may I don't melt AT others because of their personal interests. Poor rochesterdave and Tim....I think freak has a deep-seeded hatred towards Rochester. They take lots of abuse over the duration of a winter. Lol
