I bet they pretreated, it's just a matter of how much material is needed and the right timing. Maybe both were off. Deicing has really become a science the last 10 years or so....it used to be throw a bunch of crap down and if doesn't melt just throw more down. Yeah and sand really does nothing it just makes people feel good because they can see it.
You are correct, it is all about rates. But if we get a marginal light event.....and the ground is warm....It won't accumulate it'll just melt. K? Even in a big dog event you'll lose an inch or two to the warm ground. Frozen water melts above 32......at least where I live anyway.
It really isn't though, it's basic science. Of course in big dog bombs it doesn't matter, but in marginal little critter events it does matter if you get some blowing and road cover versus just a wet road. k?
Just buy a whole new carb and put it in if you don't want to clean it. Shops nowadays don't bother cleaning them either....too much time....they just replace them.
Some easy things are spray carb cleaner in when it's running with the air filter off like the can says.....or put some sea foam in the gas and run it through and let it sit in there. Did you turn the fuel shut off back and forth a few times? Maybe as simple as some gunk in there. How's the fuel filter? Might not help but worth a shot anyway. A
And always add the blue sta-bil to every gas can you fill up, no matter how long it'll be sitting! And only use 93!
Volvo is owned by Geely, a Chinese car company. Please don't man. We give so much to China let's not go give our cars away too. Just buy an explorer or something. Plus you won't look like an AEMATT sWellesley suburbanite headed to Talbots.
thank you. this seems to have gone out the window with all this.....someone came into the office last week who was sick but said it wasn't covid they were tested......but I'm like "uhhhh how about you still shouldn't be here because I don't want to get sick"
I mean our summers are not that hot, and furthermore they are definitely not that long. Why anyone would want to escape the week of heat we get to go put a shawl on is beyond me.
