  1. This one is pretty binary so I’ll give a final call: ORD: 2.1”
  2. Sorry I was posting about this in the other medium range thread. I like this one for widespread 1-4” in DVN and LOT. I think these clippers, particularly the more potent ones, routinely overachieve and tend to move further north with time.
  3. Yup. Given what we’ve seen with stronger clippers in the past, they tend to move a bit further north and overachieve. I’d favor DVN CWA for highest totals with LOT a close 2nd
  4. Probs not thread worthy but I’m bullish next week’s clipper for widespread 1-3” and lollipops of 4”+
  5. I am actually optimistic about the clipper next week and think we have a shot at a couple inches
  6. Chicago is normally good at plowing but it’s one of those weird in between amounts where plows aren’t effective and it’s too cold for salt to work. So they’re just taking the approach of not doing anything. Either that or we have no money. Probably a combo
  7. Well the good news is with the clipper on Monday, we may just get to double what’s on the ground if we’re lucky! Wowza!!
  8. Everyone’s favorite model the SREF is pretty consistent at 9z. Looks like ORD plumes have all but 1 member above 4”, a cluster between 4-6”, and a cluster of 8-10”. The mean is skewed high as a result, but think the lower cluster could pan out, albeit highly ratio-dependant. Some other stations I’m rooting for: Benton Harbor, MI: mean of 28.5” GRR: mean of 20.5” South Bend: mean of 18.7” Toledo: mean of 3.8” Lansing, aka the snow desert of the Midwest: 9.1” Indy: 4.7” The plumes in SW MI are some of the most impressive SREF outputs I’ve seen for this area with a cluster at 17-25” and a cluster at 25-35”.
  9. I like the 3-6” call for LOT CWA. I think biggest congrats are in order for the GRR crew. It is rare to see your office, who routinely sounds grumpier than me in their AFDs, hype up an event. And it seems warranted. Also good to see Ohio get it on the action given they’ve ACTUALLY had bad luck past few winters
  10. Gonna need another hand for those rare 12” events in Lansing
