  1. Put the spikes on and hiked the family into Chesterfield Gorge (NH). The picture does not do it justice, it was stunning.
  2. Brutal weekend for skiers in CNE/SNE, rain yesterday howling wind gusts today.
  3. I feel like, as with almost everything else in the news, many people in the US have sort of forgotten about it or don't care.
  4. @Juliancolton That was last year‘s list I posted which is fine but I meant to post this year‘s list: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.masslive.com/entertainment/2019/12/fran-bellamys-10-best-dining-experiences-of-2019.html%3foutputType=amp
  5. @Juliancolton These are not all in Springfield but several are in around Springfield and for the most part I agree with his list. https://www.masslive.com/life-and-culture/erry-2018/12/3f4bf197da7753/fran-bellamy-10-best-dining-ex.html
  6. It’s ironic because they had the earliest opening ever due to good temperatures in November and a great start to December and now January is the meh’ month. Luckily the Greenfield recreation department ski program will give us a rain check if tomorrow is lousy.
  7. Taking my kid to B'East the next 4 Saturdays for lessons and some turns for me and the wife. Expecting meh' conditions in the rain tomorrow but I'll still get some runs in.
  8. The 4mi drive home from friends house in town took about 20 minutes. Quick whiteout squall. Good start to the new year!
  9. Current squall just dropped .25" in about 20 minutes.
  10. @40/70 Benchmark Ray and I are in lock step with our snow totals this year. 28". Good December.
  11. Rain in December sucks but it’s nice to have the driveway back down to pavement again.
  12. Yeah and Bill is not just IPA centric, he makes all styles well.
  13. Maine has maybe the best under-hyped craft brew scene in New England. My niece's boyfriend is head brewer at Foul Mouthed in S Portland. I loved Hidden Cove when I stopped in back in October.
  14. As a kid my dad would take us out as long as it was over 3" of black ice. We would also cut test holes every 50' or so.
  15. A friend of mine fished Cranberry Pond in Sunderland/Leverett and told me 4" of black ice. That's pretty solid. It's also been real cold here this week, today was first day above freezing and it's already back down in the mid-20's.
  16. Ice fishermen were out on Barton Cove on the CT River this morning!
  17. In Chelmsford visiting family and it’s 42F. It was only 26F when we left Greenfield at 11 AM.
  18. Western MA has huge high speed internet gaps in the rural towns.
  19. Updated totals to include the .5" Tuesdasy night and the .25" from the squalls yesterday. Total 25.75" for the season.
