  1. Great late summer day. Twas' definitely on the humid side doing chores but nice. Not everyone here will find this amusing but... I went to a cookout and I was talking to a MA state trooper. We were casually discussing his job and I joked about profiling vehicles on I-91. He said, with no hesitation, outside of obvious red flags, on weekends they mainly focus on CT/NJ plates.
  2. Probably several but Franklin Co fair is definitely next weekend. One of the last fairs in SNE with a nice agricultural / farming vibe.
  3. People forget that country’s first big and maybe best revival was in the 70s with the likes of the Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd etc.
  4. This is good modern country, sounding like it should. Like the upcoming winter, lets hope there’s a “good one coming on.”
  5. He would have to step out of the A/C tho’….
  6. Yeah, it was hard playing pharmacist knowing that Beer might not be the best first beverage. The funny thing is the marathon “runner number” comes with three tickets attached. One is for beer, one is for food and one is for dessert or “other beverage”.
  7. Today? I’m 20 miles from the east slope and it’s been partly to mostly sunny all day. I poured beer most of the day for the fine athletes who competed in the Green River Marathon. The entire course is mostly on unpaved country road that follows the Green River in the canopy of deciduous trees. It’s amazing how many runners immediately come and get a beer after they are done. Lol There’s a guy who does it every year pushing his disabled son in a carriage set up. Tears me up every year.
  8. Deciduous trees have numerous stress factors that make color change variable from year to year. I've noticed a lot of color in the low elevation maples, in the Pioneer Valley, this month. Foliage is tough to call. Lots of opinions but often wrong calls.
  9. That’s the right attitude my friend. Best wishes and maybe he will send you a snowstorm to remember!
  10. Drinking the White Lion I see. Their brewer is one of my oldest friends.
  11. If you are Berks I guess Greenfield is Albany…
  12. State tests Green River in several places every week and MA has ridiculous standards for water safety. But yeah, Vermont is generally a toxic waste repository, just pouring into our virgin Western Massachusetts rivers.
  13. The river was abandoned and delightful tonight.
  14. Interior locations will have a summery week I think.
  15. I’d love an abnormally dry September.
  16. In some areas, I’m sure flood insurance will soon become impossible to get.
  17. We had the great Tip disappearance a few years ago. I thought for sure he had been gravely injured by a Frisbee golf putter.
  18. My buddy Tom built a "smokeless' from stone. The first time I saw a burn in it, I just stood there scratching my chin, while he tried to explain the engineering to me. He has since moved to Colorado so I will have to message him and see if he replicated it there.
