  1. These are awesome. I lost so many of my pictures of that month. As you can see, the parking situation was like something out of Lord of the Flies. Open spaces were guarded quite vigorously. My bro lived in Charlestown, and people would smear feces or slash tires or knock off a mirror if someone dared to take their parking space. It got pretty contentious. I guess people felt that going through the work of clearing a space every few days conferred ownership.

  3. Here are a few fond memories from Cambridge in Feb '15. I don't remember the exact date, but this was the mid-level magic system where Jim Cantore had like 6 thundersnow strikes in Plymouth. MIT had a snow farm on Albany that was a good five or six floors tall and there was another one on Binney where some maples were almost entirely buried. I thought Jan '11 in southern CT was going to be tops for my lifetime. Little did I know what was coming.
  4. That one was both fun and a little painful. The meat of the deform was tantalizingly close, but I couldn't coax it in.
  5. For real. I saw him in concert in Hartford a couple decades back and middle aged women were rushing the stage and practically attaching themselves like barnacles to him. It was quite humorous watching security pry them off while Rod kept on singing.
  6. Terrifying Steve. Glad you're okay. I had the exact same experience on Chapel Street in New Haven earlier this week, thankfully not at highway speed. People are idiots.
  7. Correct. Although it looks like Fishers is close to freezing too, so maybe @StormSurge can provide an observation? Merry Christmas, Mike!
  8. A very merry Christmas! Thanks to everyone for sharing their remarkable knowledge and tolerating my weenieish babble all year. Enjoy the day with your loved ones. With the sun just rising, it appears we have a light glaze. Breeze is still northerly and cold is holding tougher than I expected yesterday.
  9. Are you suggesting spiders migrate? If you see a black widow, odds are it hitched a ride on tropical fruit, like in a bunch of bananas or something.
  10. Well gents, time to crack a few Trilliums and celebrate. Merry Christmas to you all!
  11. It's beautiful. If I can't get a white Christmas, a white Christmas Eve is a solid consolation prize.
  12. 2013 sucked up until February. I remember Kevin was so down he was tossing the blizzard depictions until a day or two out.
  13. I've had approximately .1" of snow this month for every ten pages in this thread lol. Rookie numbers, gotta pump those up.
  14. Awesome post-mortem analysis of last week's tornado outbreak.
  15. I'll take that over torching away a foot of pack the day before Christmas any day!
  16. I've been there a few times, buddy. My only significant position recently has been been to short ARKK. I've been getting whiplash for five months, but it seems to be breaking down in earnest now. Cathy's buried deep in dogshit securities. If real redemption pressure comes in, she may waterfall.
  17. My pre-COVID trade was shorting the airlines and Boeing, which worked out beautifully. Not sure we'll get a similar reaction this time, but this is a very sick market without any help from COVID. It may be a useful scapegoat in the event of a crash.
  18. I'm watching Reed Timmer chase and the dude is definitely repping Flex Tape. I can't think of a more appropriate sponsorship lol.
  19. Yeah, we only managed flurries down here in 2017. I don't remember the '02 storm for some reason. The closest storm to Christmas I can recall was Boxing Day '10, although I'd rather forget it.
  20. I would kill for a KU on Christmas. I can't remember the last time we had a real snow storm that day.
  21. Man, that cell in Kentucky is giving me flashbacks of the Tuscaloosa cell in '11. Insane environment, totally unimpeded inflow, no competition. Just a long-track monster.
  22. That cell in SE Missouri is insane. Like 200kt GTG at times.
  23. Absolutely gorgeous with the snow clinging to every single twig.
