First flakes during my run earlier. Just a few, but it felt great to see them!
Edit: Wow, just looking at what other folks here are getting tonight. I had no idea accumulation was even on the table. Congratulations to all.
I'm sorry to hear it. I certainly hope she comes through okay. It will be a scary lesson for her at the very least. My grandmother would've been suicidal to stay. She is literally on the beach on the third floor. I suspect I'll be going down there to try to salvage whatever is left in a week or two.
Well, it took some serious cajoling, but we finally prevailed on my 94 year old grandmother to leave her stuff and GTFO of Siesta Key. Her building will likely be toast after tomorrow.
My grandmother has had a beachfront condo in Siesta Key for sixty years and had never seen storm surge reach her building until Helene. Crazy to think that she will likely see something far worse Wednesday...or rather won't see. It took some convincing, but we finally got her to go inland today. The town is still a mess from what I hear.
Oh hell, just seeing this. My grandmother's 4th floor condo on the beach of Siesta Key would be toast with a lot of these runs. And just a week after the worst surge she's ever seen in the 60 years she's been down there. Yikes.
My grandma is in Siesta Key on the beach. Wild flooding considering how far from landfall they were. My great uncle’s villa nearby had feet of water in it. First time it’s flooded since they bought it in the early Fifties.
