  1. Yeah, I'm just getting impatient. I feel the same way when people report "first flakes" before me leading into a big snowstorm.
  2. Man, nice shot! I missed that by an hour on the Fishers ferry this afternoon. The sky north of NL did look like the apocalypse though.
  3. Driving down 95 by Lake Saltonstall, the whole hillside was dull oranges and reds. I've never seen such widespread color this early. Trees are stressed, man. If we don't get some decent rain soon, it's going to cause problems.
  4. This is goddamn infuriating. All of southern NE getting lit up, and we can barely pull off a few drops. WTAF.
  5. Not a drop on Fishers today. Actually kinda nice. I was expecting a washout.
  6. That storm devastated the burgeoning weather weenie in me. I was giddy with anticipation and then…rug pull.
  7. First sign of the changing season out here is the birds. Haven’t seen a single catbird since arriving yesterday, but the trees are thick with redstarts, kinglets, flycatchers and creepers.
  8. I had to flee the desolate wastelands of Hamden for Fishers today. Just two things to say: 1) It’s gorgeous out today. 2) I can’t believe just how warm the Sound is. Thought I was in Sarasota or something.
  9. Rich get richer. This is ridiculous.
  10. Sounds like a typical monthly total in my hood recently.
  11. Yep, that's my yard in a nutshell.
  12. Wtf, is that really in my state? That’s insane.
  13. You know, I've been wondering if there might be a connection between the eruption and the bizarre tropical lack of activity, and the brutal droughts across the northern hemisphere this year. I don't know enough about such things to weigh in in a meaningful way, but the breadth of these problems across China, the U.S. and Europe simultaneously seems so broad as to merit speculation.
  14. Yeah, he broke his lease up there and moved into my hood.
  15. Ugh, congrats up north. Stein dug in like a tick down here.
  16. Congrats on any rain. Barely a drop in New Haven.
  17. Unrelenting dryness. Thinking of restyling myself “Haboob in Hamden” if it gets much dustier.
  18. I’ll be gone til November, tell my girl yo I’ll be gone til November.
  19. If I had the power, I would've banned him last winter when he was whining about his 30" pack.
  20. Oh yeah. I was obsessed with the run-up to that storm as well, especially since the '12 winter and that winter to that date had been abysmal. I just ambled around Cambridge all night watching the drifts pile up and cars gradually disappear. Great storm in Boston, but I'll always be sad I wasn't home in Hamden for it.
  21. Jan ‘11 blizzard for me. I think I lost about a week of sleep prior to Sandy though.
