  1. Stiff breeze, but dry so far. Latest discussion out of Taunton looks serious. Making last minute preparations, hoarding IPA and Slim Jims. Good luck, everyone. MOST OF THE AREA WILL BE UNINHABITABLE FOR WEEKS...PERHAPS LONGER. AT LEAST ONE HALF OF WELL CONSTRUCTED HOMES WILL HAVE ROOF AND WALL FAILURE. ALL GABLED ROOFS WILL FAIL...LEAVING THOSE HOMES SEVERELY DAMAGED OR DESTROYED. THE MAJORITY OF INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS WILL BECOME NON FUNCTIONAL. PARTIAL TO COMPLETE WALL AND ROOF FAILURE IS EXPECTED. ALL WOOD FRAMED LOW RISING APARTMENT BUILDINGS WILL BE DESTROYED. CONCRETE BLOCK LOW RISE APARTMENTS WILL SUSTAIN MAJOR DAMAGE...INCLUDING SOME WALL AND ROOF FAILURE. HIGH RISE OFFICE AND APARTMENT BUILDINGS WILL SWAY DANGEROUSLY...A FEW TO THE POINT OF TOTAL COLLAPSE. ALL WINDOWS WILL BLOW OUT. AIRBORNE DEBRIS WILL BE WIDESPREAD...AND MAY INCLUDE HEAVY ITEMS SUCH AS HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES AND EVEN LIGHT VEHICLES. SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES AND LIGHT TRUCKS WILL BE MOVED. THE BLOWN DEBRIS WILL CREATE ADDITIONAL DESTRUCTION. PERSONS...PETS...AND LIVESTOCK EXPOSED TO THE WINDS WILL FACE CERTAIN DEATH IF STRUCK. POWER OUTAGES WILL LAST FOR WEEKS...AS MOST POWER POLES WILL BE DOWN AND TRANSFORMERS DESTROYED. WATER SHORTAGES WILL MAKE HUMAN SUFFERING INCREDIBLE BY MODERN STANDARDS. THE VAST MAJORITY OF NATIVE TREES WILL BE SNAPPED OR UPROOTED. ONLY THE HEARTIEST WILL REMAIN STANDING...BUT BE TOTALLY DEFOLIATED. FEW CROPS WILL REMAIN. LIVESTOCK LEFT EXPOSED TO THE WINDS WILL BE KILLED.
  2. Vaguely reminds me of the March '13 firehose storm with that absurdly long fetch, slow movement and abnormal low placement. But I'm sure that's not a great analog in any other sense.
  3. We'll be seeing this exact same post from you in January, but with a 4x multiplier on the totals. Then you'll jack 30" while I snort cirrus and leap off the Q bridge.
  4. Maybe I'm subliminally conflating him with Andie MacDowell. A scary thought...
  5. I've said it before: it's like they know the end is coming and just want to go out kamikaze style.
  6. I'm not biting until Frankie McDowell puts out a diatribe.
  7. Can I put this on layaway for January?
  8. This sent Hurricane Josh to the doctor for priapism.
  9. Good. Let's tag and bag some mosquitoes.
  10. Should I expect a different count post-defecation?
  11. If mangled snow flakes in October correlate to dud winters, what do dewy upper 80s and liberal swass augur? Discuss.
  12. Khaki FYI. Indian origin I believe.
  13. Lol 52 pages of wasted zeros and ones in here.
  14. I believe this was from 2/14/15. A great finale to an unforgettable month.
  15. Brutally sticky run this morning. Can't wait to clear this mank out later for good.
  16. After a promising early start to the color season, my leaves are now just going straight to brown and dropping. Kinda sucks. My birch is pretty much down already.
  17. Ugh, don't remind me. What a dud last winter was. Even the cathartic 12"+ thump couldn't come close to redeeming it.
  18. Good points. I'm just grasping at straws.
  19. Sees this. Gawks in perverse delight. Suddenly realizes someone got more snow in September than I got all last winter. Considers life choices.
  20. That was gonna be my guess as well. I believe '78 had an eye-like feature later in its development, but I've never seen pics of it early in its genesis.
